IMO, City Commander would be the better buy. Everyone knows what happened with the first release when it sold out, the price almost tripled for the thing on the secondary market. So I'd say pre-order it while you have the chance, because who knows when or if it'll ever be re-released again after this.

To avoid knock offs, I'd suggest a pre-order through BBTS.

City Commander. Magnus looks naked without it.

A real Takara Transformer product or a bootleg derivative work? Real thing wins every time, for me.

get city commander first, ML soundwave is a great figure, it goes well the my henkei/universe collection, it is also widely available so you can wait. i missed city commander first time round, so i pre ordered it this time and i managed to get a second hand ultra magnus a couple of weeks ago.

if you have a magnus then I'd say your going to get more for your money with the city commander.

i have been thinking about getting one of these the only thing really holding me back is the astronomical price for the actual Ultra Magnus figure. anyone got one for sale for a decent price?

No Question City Commander. IMO Classics Ultra Magnus or any Ultra Magnus for that matter is just Magnus without Armor. There is nothing Ultra about a White repainted Prime.

Tough Choice!!! I personally would have to flip a coin as to which I prefer of my own.

    ***flips coin***

The coin says Ultra Magnus...but Soundwave is technique my favorite purchase.

    City Commander, easily.

ML Soundwave is currently shelfwarming in my closet. While the mold itself it okay, the plastic feels relatively cheap, and the MP3 function is terrible; the amplification circuit causes a lot of static. It also has a very wobbley head.

City Commander! It's a VERY nice add on, and I kinda doubt there will be anymore re-releases after this.

    City Commander hands down.

Well worth the $100 and change it is going for. Although on the surface the price is hefty once you have this thing on hand and attach it to your UM you will forget abotu the money and love this thing to death. Very high quality third party product.

    Thanx

I feel the same way. I never could find Magnus in stores, and haven't wanted to pay aftermarket prices.

If I actually had classics Magnus the armor would be tempting.
