Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

I bought the reissued City Commander (w/the add-on stuff) and absolutely love it. But there's one problem. The hole(s) in his left shoulder, which are supposed to store his windvane gun, are far too loose to hold it in place. I don't mean "it comes out easily" -- I mean there's zero friction whatsoever. The hole is so much wider than the handle of the gun that I can't even fix it with nail polish or superglue.

Everything else fits together great. The right shoulder square hole for the smokestack gun is even a bit tight. But if I try to peg his windvane gun into the left shoulder hole, I might as well be trying to get it to float on air.

    Anyone else?

Are you sure you are pushing it in all the way? There are two layers of holes, one to let it in, and the other to secure it in place. It's actually quite hard to notice but keep pushing on it and wiggling it around. It fits much more snugly then I thought after I messed around with it. Think of it like the crotch piece attachment.

For the record, I only own the DIA armor.

I just store his add-on rifle in the back of the trailer when in ALT mode. When he is in robot mode, I see no reason to put the gun anywhere but in his hand.

He's talking about the Windvane gun, not the add on in the new set.

Just as was stated in a previous post, just push it in there, there are two layers of hole to get it into. I had that problem for a minute or two untill I noticed the hole was deeper than it appears to be.

Well I'll be a minicon's uncle -- you're right! I just wasn't shoving it hard enough. Thanks for the advice, guys.

I guess with an expensive custom piece like this, it's easy to be scared about breaking it. It took me forever to have enough guts to shove the crotch piece on hard enough for it to 'snap' the first time.

I now have no complaints about this figure and am back to being in mad love with it. :)

Mine has the exact same problem.

So you're saying I'm not pushing it in far enough? I'll try it as soon as I get back to the US.

    Glad I could help ^_^

Yeah. There are two different hole sizes as the hole gets deeper. The first is to make sure that the handle doesn't stick out and the second is smaller to secure it. It doesn't seem like it's there but it is.

Fansprojects doesn't overlook anything, it seems.

I've got the original release and I can't say I've run into this... mostly because I've never tried to store the weapons there.

I have UM displayed with the windvane gun in hand and the smokestack gun "holstered" at his waist.

I'll post a pic when I get to taking it.

Wow. Nothing since my last post. Well... I got to it. Here's those pictures- wind vane rifle in hand and the smokestack gun "holstered."

Just to note, nothing is holding it in place aside from gravity. It's simply sitting on the outside of the calf, resting mostly on the knee, and leaning onto the waist.

Never thought to just have it lean there. Pretty cool to boot. I personally like it stored like it was on a back weapon rack though.

Also, I forgot to mention you can also stick the BFG on the back by using the protrution in the middle of the mold and slide it or stick it (its a rough fit) on the long groove running down the side of the gun. It works great when I want to use the God Sword or pimp out the duel wielding. :D

I was actually disappointed it took that long. I was debating whether or not to cut the "crotch piece attachment" out for better effect.

Here's a cookie for your effort though.

No, this is the initial release CC. I haven't gone and bought that set yet, $12 or not. I've been fine with the wind-vane rifle so far, and would really only be using the missile pods from the set.

Aw hell, you know what. Thinking about it, I made it a point to get a G1 looking Ion Cannon for Optimus. I might as well get Magnus' G1 rifle. I'll buy the set this weekend, there's a place locally that has them. Hopefully they haven't sold out in the past month.

I know right? I'm pretty disappointed with my fellow fans for missing that nice set-up.
