This one is for those of you who may or may not remember these critters from before. For those not in the know, this brood comes out every 17 years. The last time they were around I was in the third grade, and loved throwing them in unsuspecting girls' hair. This time around I'm a bit-well-revolted by them.

    Without further ado:

Odd, I live in Southeast Ohio and we don't have any cicadas at all. These must be very region-specific...

You're certain to have them once the ground warms up for more than a few hours. IIRC, the specialists claimed the ground needed to exceed 80 degrees. I'm just a couple of hours Southwest of you, and they're out in force here.

I have the annual green ones around me, always making a racket in the woods behind my house, they've mated so that each generation emerges one year after the other. But I don't see them too much unless they died and are in the path way, or if they're hit by my truck:ev: .

Yea we have cicadas yearly in the DFW area. Personally I love their songs, isn't summer to me without the cicadas sounds coming up loud from one tree and fading away only to be picked up by one in an adjacent tree and then in a tree a little further down the block and so on.

I am surprised they haven't come out in my area yet too. We are on the 17 year cycle to.

    They are fun and gross.

There was a brood here a few years ago and it really felt like an attack, it was literally raining Cicadas.
Took shelter in a store and you couldnt see the floor from all the ones that got inside, and they were all having sex. Its like a bug porn raid on humanity
