3 bad boys in the mail!!! Am I the only one who buy online and actually enjoy the waiting? Kind of a fun thing to have your coffee in the morning and track your package while watching weather forecasts and stuff.
Sooo much epicness!!!
"Rev up, and roll out!"
How did I not think of this before?
Whoops........... I guess that's why
To top off my run of Seekers, let’s finish strong.......
What....you were expecting Skywarp?!?
Thrust is my favorite of the 3 conehead Seekers. My brother and I had the G1 toy as kids so there is some nostalgic value to him for me. I was unable to procure a Generations Skywarp since I never saw the Target exclusive 2-pk with him and Ultra Magnus. Thrust is a decent substitute though, even if he is a polar opposite to Skywarp. Skywarp liked to be stealthy and sneak up on you before enjoying putting the hurt on an Autobot. Whereas Thrust liked to announce himself with his dual thrusters booming towards the battle, but then running away if things got too intense. Thrust was all bark and little bite. At least he looked good fleeing with his tail fins between his rotors.
I do like the look of this figure. Still based on the F-15 Eagle, Thrust came with some modifications. The wing configuration with the tail fin stabilizers and VTOL thrusters are a nice touch. I love the deep burgundy with the translucent gold cockpit.
I always thought the conehead Seekers were slightly more goofy looking with....well the coneheads. But Thrust I think pulls off the look the best with his more intimidating color scheme. His look was more unique too compared to Ramjet and Dirge because of his wing design and the VTOLs. The figure really captures the look of the G1 character especially with the option to place the removable thrusters on his lower tail fins in bot mode.
Generations Thrust is a great looking toy. I do wish I could’ve gotten my hands on a version of this mold for Skywarp, but this guy will do. Gives him a chance to show off at least, it’s what he does best.
"I just think that we're at our best when we're together."
This murderer was once an Autobot leader.
Damn everyone loved this guy! He was so popular amongst the fandom there was talk of shrines being built in his honor. The sweet dream of the Universe line, Cyclonus with Nightstick.
Oooohhh, this was/is a cool toy. An original mold and a closer version to the cartoon than the G1 model, Universe Cyclonus was the boss.....just don’t tell Galvatron. Cyclonus remains loyal after all no matter what. The darker and deeper colors were a far cry from the original in the US release, but they made him look so much more menacing and evil.
Really my only gripe with this figure overall would be that his inner legs don’t tab together in jet mode. The way the wings tab together and hinge/tab onto the outer legs is genius, but having the inner legs tab together too would’ve made him a lot more solid. Everything else is classic Cyclonus right down to the spike coming out of the nose cone.
This was the best part though, the best iteration of Cyclonus in bot mode even to this day. Other than the darker colors, which I personally prefer, they nailed the true look of G1 Cyclonus. Nightstick is a serviceable little Targetmaster too and the figures worked well together, even if Cyclonus only had one functional hand. From the head spikes, to the shoulder and arm wing fins, to the crazy flexible legs, Universe Cyclonus is a badass!
This guy doesn’t need me to tell you how cool he is, just look at him. Nuff said! Enjoy!
Looks like my latest addition is nearby...
It's such a shame The Edge turned bad.
I'm into Cyke too, he's All Killer no Filler.
I should have mine monday! This guy seems really cool
Is that weapon storage in Alt mode? I miss that so much.
It's a good look
How good is that Megatron as opposed to other toy lines?
This is not Scourge, the tracker. This is one of his huntsmen, a Sweep.
When Generations Scourge was released I was apprehensive at first. I know he always played second fiddle to Cyclonus in the cartoon. Character wise he was just kind of a sniveling toad. The toys always seemed to reflect his second-ratedness, but this iteration was such a departure for Scourge. Not in the sense that it’s a bad figure, in the sense that compared to what Hasbro did for Cyclonus in Generations, it just didn’t measure up.
To my knowledge, this was the first time Scourge was based on an Earth aircraft. It’s not a bad figure, but it just didn’t seem to quite be the right fit IMO. We had to wait for Titans Return to get a proper Scourge. When I got the TR version I decided to head-canon this one into a Sweep.
I guess it’s appropriate, an experimental aircraft mode for an experimental figure update.
He does have an interesting and unique transformation though. The bot mode is slightly closer to the actual Scourge. The leg joints are a bit awkward but he’s still fairly poseable.
The wings are kinda awkward too but they make for a unique silhouette. They also serve as excellent weapon storage for his guns. The wing panels open up and hold one piece of the gun on each side.
Scourge and the Sweeps were never my favorite characters. I don’t think they were anyone’s favorite for that matter. Aside from being a lackey to Galvatron and Cyclonus, Scourge never really stood out to me as an interesting character. I always thought the toys were more interesting, which doesn’t say much for Scourge. I don’t really dislike the TR or Generations Scourge, it’s more like indifference. I’m ok with having at least one copy of each, but I have no desire for more for army building purposes. You’d think a character/toy meant to be an army builder would be more distinct or cooler like a stormtrooper or a Cobra Viper. Instead Scourge is more like the Putties from Power Rangers. He’s just ok.
I've always liked Scourge. Didn't hurt that I only had his toy and not Cyclonus... although I always really wanted Cyclonus. But I like Scourge's colour palette and his awkward space soap dish alt mode.
Btw, you need to turn his waist and legs around 180 degrees
Separate names with a comma.
