Who else on here is a fan of the Narnia films? I cant wait until Dawn Treader comes to theatres in 3D on Dec. 10th. So who here also loves these films?

I enjoyed the two films, but for some reason they seemed sort of hollow. I dunno why.

The battle scenes fed my battle-loving side better than the Bay films have sans the Forest Fight, and the plots are simple but enjoyable. I also like the large casts of Narnians. Most of the Narnians, important or not, still have their time to shine at least once.

You spelled chronicles wrong. Other than that I don't love these films I like them.

The next two movies are based on two of my favorite books in the series, so I'm looking forward to them a lot - especially Dawn Treader. I was disappointed to hear that they're replacing Eddie Izzard as the voice of Reepicheep, though.

    3D. You're serious. *Sigh*

I've never honestly sat through either of the 2 film, but I saw most of them and they were pretty good.

    FOR NARNIA!

I find Chronicles of Narnia to be mind numbingly boring.

I read the first three books and got bored, I watched the first film I got bored and I'm not going to bother with the other books and movies...

I thought the first film was decent enough, but the second was really boring. I might rent the third when it hits DVD, depending what kind of reviews it gets. Of course, it's Dawn Treader, which was the point where I stopped re-reading the books out of boredom, so I might just skip it entirely.

I agree. The first one was decent, but the second one lost me. That being said Anna Poppelwell is hot.

I've been a fan of C.S. Lewis' book series since I was very young, and I liked the 80s BBC TV movies that proceeded Disney's films by 20 years.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader was always my favorite book in the series so naturally it's also the one I'm most looking forward to seeing the movie for.

Much less excited about it being in 3D though.

I really liked the Wardrobe Disney/Walden Media film, but was less impressed by Prince Caspian. It felt too much like a Peter Jackson LOTR adaptation -- they focused heavily on the battle scenes and I felt like they lost the heart and soul of the book.

Both Lewis and Tolkien showed a distaste for war in their works (not surprising since they lived through and served during two world wars), so it almost seems contrary to the nature books to focus so heavily on the battles in the films.

    From Narniaweb.com's FAQs:

I enjoyed The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe. Haven't seen Prince Caspian.

But all in all Id rather read the books as the movies done of them have not been able to truly capture the magic of C.S.Lewis's writing. They have done well but the books are like LOTR a story that cannot be truly told on the big screen.

Love the movies and recently read the entire series for the first time (found all 7 books brand new, hardcover for 99 cents a piece - bargain!!). Prince Caspian (the movie) was a little confusing to me until I read the book. The movies do put in a LOT of extra stuff to fill the story in. I'm definitely looking forward to Dawn Treader and the rest.

Yeah. I watched the first one. It seemed very well made as far as production values and special effects. But I just didn't find it very engaging. Maybe the actors were a bit dull, I dunno. I lost interest. I might check out this 3rd one if the 3D is any good.

I wish them the best with it, I hope they get to finish out the series, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make it to the end. They don't seem to capture the popular imagination the way Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings did.
