So I just recently picked up this toy recently to try out the dinothunder power ranger line but was surprised to find a all sliver chrome figure. I know nothing about this line or power rangers? Is this rare?

The yellow sticker just above the price tag says something about a limited silver version. That is if you are wondering how to differentiate between the normal ones since both uses the same box.

I think they're sorta rare, at least as far as being a bit more expensive than the normal version. Not something that's going to make you a massive profit, but they are indeed from a Hong Kong promotion.

To give you a better idea of value, all four of them can be had on eBay for $150.

Wow, I saw the plain old blue Dimetro-zord going for £60 plus (+ p&p) on EbayUK, with bidders too.

I guess prices have dropped a lot.

Actually, I brought this figure in Hong Kong this past week. So the price tag on the box is in HK dollars which equals to around $7 US dollars. I'm was hoping to buy more on ebay but after looking at the prices, I wish I brought more in HK. :(

So what's the deal? is this thing rare or worth anything? I just want to know if I should play with it or not? :p

Ok I can read chinese and what roughly translates over is "special silver version".
My bad for misinterpreting special as limited then.

There's not as many auctions for the silver dinos as I used to see, but I think I'd attribute that more to Abaranger's age in general. Just play with it, you got a nice deal on it (and yeah, you should have definitely gotten more in HK) that you could still resell it and maybe make some $$ if you don't want it later.

Recently when the Sentai series have been released in Hong Kong, they've had special silver/gold/chrome editions of the mechs/zords.

As far as how rare they are? I'd say pretty rare, as they only seem to be released for the HK market.

They're not knockoffs. They are Hong Kong special versions.

Yeah, Bandai is famous or infamous for releasing toys that are exclusive to a particular country...in fact, other Japanese companies do the same thing also.

I say Bandai of Asia is the king of special versions :) . Every time I go back to Hong Kong theres SOMETHING that has special crome version or special translucent version by Bandai (this year they had translucent SD Force Impulse Gundam model kit).

I'm just so happy that at the very least, I don't have to worry about rare Hong Kong offerings for my precious Ultraman vinyls. Bandai finds enough ways to make certain ones impossible to find in Japan alone!

The sliver chrome zoid is cool but I rather have a normal colored one. Oh well, time to ebay one. Hopefully I can get it cheap like for the same price I got the chrome one. Thanks for the info guys! :)
