I hope to God this means the new Superman movie will be as awesome as The Dark Knight, or at least Batman Begins.

Oh ok, as long as he's not directing. He's doing a great job with Batman but I don't think he'd work for Superman.

Though having him oversee it can work out.

I hope he handles the script.

    Oo! Psyched.

I recently read Superman Birthright. I would like to see the film take some inspiration from that. When I read the TPB, I felt like I was reading storyboards from a really epic movie.

Any news for a Superman movie is great. I really hope to see the Big Blue Boy Scout in action again.

As long as we skip the origin story and fights a super powered being/Luthor in his armor, I'll be happy with the next Superman film.

    Good news for sure.

I also hope the origin will be covered fairly simply and there will be a suitable villain in there. Metallo would be a no-brainer, he could work in a grittier style if they were so inclined especially with the whole 7734 connection he's got going at the moment.

I don't see how this can be anything but good for the franchise.

    Superman....meh

Batman is awesome but I'm not really exited for Superman...

I loved Superman Returns and wished they continued that story...

That means there is a chance Goyer might get a sniff at the script, maybe even Johns too! Fingers crossed.

As long as this doesn't steal his attention away from the third batman film, sure.

What story? Superman Returns was pretty much just a flashy collection of heroic Superman moments.

Wow. So he can completely make a joke of the Superman character as well?

    Awful, awful news.

We're talking about the guy who turned the World's Greatest Detective, one of the smartest and most analytical minds on the planet, Bruce Wayne/Batman, into someone who relies on a suit of armor and "wonderful toys."

Congratulations, I think you're the first person to ever publically admit that :lol

Interesting move, see what happens. I can't really ever get psyched for the boy scout though.

Uh, that's pretty much equally a part of the Batman mythos. Dude's smart, and he has lots of gadgets.

He had to do a bit of detective work in routing out The Scarecrow, and also in tracking The Joker's path of carnage. But neither had particularly subtle MOs, so it's perfectly reasonable that he wasn't playing Sherlock Holmes the whole time.

You're in the wrong thread. The Tim Burton thread is... well, hopefully on another forum.

I wouldn't mind if the visual look of the new Superman movie resembles that of the Batman movies, so a teamup would be tonally cohesive.
