I dug all those old school ones, but growing up, my favorites were the Claymation Christmas (w/California raisins, etc.), Emmit Otter's Jugband Christmas, Muppet Family Christmas, and the Charlie Brown one, of course.
The snow monster from Rudolph used to scare the crap out of me. Garfield and Charlie Brown are always good.
My favorites Christmas shows are.. Its A Wonderful Life Bad Santa A Christmas Carol (1951) A Christmas Story Just Friends--Some might consider this movie not really part of Christmas. A Year Without A Santa Claus Scrooge (1969)
I think Im one of the only people who hates A Christmas Story. I wasnt raised on it and I didnt find it appealing when I first saw it two years ago. My favorite one hands down is How the Grinch Stole Christmas, thought Santa Claus is Coming to Town and the Year Without a Santa Claus follow it very closely. Though the ABC Family sequel to the latter looks horrid.
That always did seem a little suspicious to me. My favorite christmas special has to be 'The Runaway Bride'. One of the best. Although 'The Next Doctor' looks truly awesome. I know most people don't like the Cybus Cybermen, but I'm in to them. The Cybershade will either scare kids, or make the kids laugh. It's up to the writers. And the ABC thing 'A Miser Brothers Christmas' looks like it'll bomb. Most everyone will be complaining about how awful it is, and there'll be a few people who liked it, or vice versa, but I'm betting on the former. There will be blood.
That would be AWESOME!! I do like all the old favorites like Rudolph, got that DVD compliation of all the classics last year so I imagine I'll watch that again. Count me in as one who thinks A Christmas Story is severly overrated, never found it to be all that enjoyable really.
