Yeah, Halloween has been over for a week now, and it's RIDICULOUS how quick these stores switch to Christmas mode...I walked into work this morning, and already they had Chrstimas decorations up, and they were playing the music to boot.
Yea, the same thought happened to me, but in it, I also thought, "Where the f*ck did Thanksgiving go!?"
Yeah, Wednesday I went to Wal-Mart with my mom and brother -- both had the day off from work -- and they had Christmas stuff up.
Yeah, how dare people look forward to a holiday next month! God, those people make me sick, planning to spend time with their loved ones and exchange gifts bought with thought and love!
Hell even the music choice channel on cable has started playing holiday songs, but all this was discussed in a previous thread
It was over in October, at least it was here in Canada. November 1st, the Christmas commercials started, and just recently, Leon's (a rather large furniture store chain around here) started showing their annoying 15 year old Christmas commercials.
People buy a lot of decorations and gifts for Christmas, and the more they can pace it out, the easier it is on the wallet. So, it shouldn't be surprising that stuff is available early so you don't have to spend a fortune all in December. Thanksgiving sells food, but its not a big "decorate your house" holiday. Plus, every year there seems to be a thread like this. Stores have been doing this for decades, so, no reason to be surprised again.
I'm just surprised... normally there's this one radio station in Detroit that starts playing Christmas music right after Halloween (I think one time they started even before Halloween), but they haven't started playing Christmas music yet. I'm probably going to break down and start listening to Christmas music within another week or so.
Yeah The Music Choice channel started playing Christmas songs on Nov. 1st, a day after Halloween. I've noticed that last year.
We have a radio station will start playing Christmas music around Nov 20th. They started that around four years ago.
She must love Xmas, even my mother never used to put the tree up until Tahnskgiving, usually waited until the very end of Novemeber since we had a 9ft artifical tree.
