Well... I'm not sure I want to open this pandora's box, but it's not really the same in the Middle East. After all, the Palestinians are an occupied people to this day. Not defending the actions of terrorists whatsoever, but it's not an issue that's in the past.

Anyway, a lot of what China's doing right now is just asserting itself as a world power, which - let's face it - it is. I just hope that it doesn't result in some kind of clash with the West, as this sort of thing has tended to do in the past.

I'm of the opinion that it won't, since there are some big differences to consider these days, most importantly the world economy and how we're all a lot more tied up in each other's business these days, especially when you're talking about the US and China. But you never know...
