This is for meet ups and trades as well as other things to discuss.
Ok guys, cool it on the public discussion of this issue. I already said the admins are talking about it (I'm on your side) and we'll address the issue quickly.
Per the general forum rules, PM a staff member if you question their decision.
Would there be interest in a chicagoland-specific TF site? I've been thinking about starting one since the meetup, and this latest development might be enough to get me rolling on it if y'all are interested.
Regardless of how this Sightings on/off-topic thing turns out, would you guys be interested in having a Chicago-only forum, with multiple threads and such?
i would yeah or at least be able to get a social group up.
That seems like it would be real cool to have a chicgao/illinois site. I would support. Don't get me wrong I love TFW, but I think the illinois sighting will die, and just be a haven for lurkers
count me in, as I'm thinking of leaving this place!
Gonna have to agree here. A social group would work, maybe even section on the forums, but a whole new site would fail horribly.
I'm down for an off shoot on this site. Can't let a small handful of people ruin it for everyone else.
By any chance does anybody have a G1 Cyclonus either original or targetmaster. I never had one and always wanted him, but I was disappointed in his bot mode. But with the coming 25th anniversary figure I'm gonna have to get my hands on that shit.
Why do you think it would fail horribly? I don't know if you guys participate much in the other TFW boards, but I for one only IL-sightings and the sale forums on TFW. [Comment removed, please see Rule #21]
If you want to start a social group, are you gonna pony up the donation money to start it? I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but it ain't a free one either (though honestly, it ain't that expensive, really).
To clarify, I'm not thinking of starting a new comprehensive TF site; that would be stupid. I'm just thinking of setting up a forum site that us locals cold use, with maybe a news page and any other feature I feel like setting up. If more features are suggested or desired, they could be considered in the future.
As an added bonus, we won't be boring the downstate-IL people with our Chi-town sightings here
Chicagoland's a pretty big region. Are there enough TF fans here to provide critical mass to support such an online community?
I would just like an opportunity to talk to you guys, regardless of if its sightings or just chat, or both.
Admins talked it over and the action taken in the IL threads was wrong. The thread will continue as usual.
But, seriously guys. I've had to remove a few more posts from this thread because people can't obey the rules that you agreed to when you signed up for the board. Feel free to PM me and discuss them with me, but any other disregard of the general board rules will result in warnings/infractions. I'm on your side with the debate of the last day, but I can't let you all break rules that everyone else obeys.
I didn't mean I don't like the sightings by calling it boring. Good to know what's out, but no chance of getting a lot of the things. I just wanted to say I enjoy the non-sightings post in the thread, because it keeps things interesting for me.
Sorry, Tim! forgive us?!
As long as you all cheer for the Sox this week and into the playoffs!
Cub fans? Banned!
hey, save the actual transformer stuff for the sightings thread, this is for random stuff! LOL
Hey, I bleed black and silver since I was 9 years old!
then you'll have to ban me tim! im in the southside but i still root for the cubbies.
i'm no hater for the sox though. i just tease a little bit to certain people. tough break on yesterday's game though.
Since you're in the Southside, you're saved
And yeah, yesterday hurt. Just about as much as I want to hurt Javier Vasquez.
damn, and again yesterday! bummer man.
Yup. You can just tell that Minnesota wants the division more right now. It'll be sad if they can't turn it around.
