Chicago : Center Point For Transformers 3 Principal Photography

    Chicago will act as the navel point for the Principal Photography of Transformers 3, says reelchicago.com. Basically, the Giant Fighting Robots will duke it out at the Windy City for the 3rd time.

    Also, the article revealed that the filming will begin on 4th of July and will successfully continue for seven weeks.

    Chicago Film Office director Rich Moskal calls the upcoming big-budget shoot “a blockbuster in every sense of the word; in terms of economic impact, stunts and special effects.” In a sit-down with the producers last winter, Mayor Daley was agreeable to their city location requests “as he saw the multiple value in this big movie shooting here,” says Moskal. They will shoot along Michigan Avenue and throughout the Loop.

    Sweet. Ample opportunity to head downtown and check out it. Great news. There's plenty of great scenery and landmarks they can use. And it's about time someone knocks down Wrigley Field!

    I hope "T3" is just a placeholder shorthand title. Just doesn't sound right.

    sweet! looks like there making a trend with starting filming with a big action sequence, for ROTF it was at bethlahem steel for the shanghi fight, now were duking it out in windy city. very cool.

    and i like the sound of 7 weeks of strait filming. thats one of the things i love about bay, hes so fast paced.

    I'm glad they'll be fighting in the city again, I think I prefer the urban battle in TF1 over the more open dessert battle in ROTF. Its more close quarters and you get to see the robots fight one on one

    Ah true, how could I forget that! lol I guess I mean for the climax battle which usually takes place near the end of the films and involves most of the transformers...

    The good thing about the city and the forest fight are that you actually see the robots hitting/shooting/stabing each other lol but in the egypt battle you only see them shooting at enemies off screen...I think its much cooler when you see them interacting with each other in a smaller space. Although if they did more wider shots of the dessert battle where you could see both side shooting at each other that would have been pretty cool aswell

    All this and I moved to VA! But if I wasn't here I wouldn't care since it's all Backscatters fault I even know about Transformers. He contaminated me.

    This is very exciting news though and I'm so looking forward to my hometown being invaded by giant bots!

    Isn't that where they filmed the climax of the first movie?

    I hope it doesn't look too similar to the first film. As bad as ROTF was, at least the environments were cool...
