Yeah, first BW MP. My s/o almost got me one from the specials section of Anime Export last year for my birthday, but it was already around €80/90 (while the original pre-order was 40 something), so I said better wait for a reissue. And here we are, in time for my next birthday, assuming this is not just a Hasbro Asia release.

It's a pretty awesome figure despite his flaws. Looks fantastic in both mode and is very poseable. The 2 main flaws with this figure are:

1.) The incredibly tight shoulder joints limiting movement and prone to breaking
2.) The whiskers getting damaged by the transformation to bot mode- yes you can avoid it by removing the beast mode head for the transformation, but then it becomes a parts-former

Has this ever been in doubt? And no doubt we'll get the fix from the black one. I sold off mine for 150 net. Price increase? No problem.

I wanted to grab this guy to go with Primal but at this point I don't want to encourage or validate Takara's price gouging practice.

Hmmm...will keep an eye on this even though I already have the first release.

The shoulder fix will be the decider.

I'd be interested to learn who is putting these reissues out(is is Hasbro Asia?) and if Cheetor has the same shoulder fix Shadow Panther, not that I had an issue with Cheetors shoulders, Id rather see Dinobot's fixed tbh!

I honestly think Cheetor's is worse though- it severely limits his articulation as is and then destroys the figure if it breaks under the increased tension

It's odd, I've not had this experience at all. My Cheetors arms have a very full range of movement. Can you explain how it limits articulation? How do these breakages happen?

My Cheetor's shoulder joints are so tight, you really need to force them to rotate- indirectly limiting the articulation. There is a ton of force that needs to be exerted on these joints putting them at risk for breakage

I see, my Cheetors shoulders are tight but not that tight, I just hold the joint at the base and twist. Is there no way of loosening or lubricating the joints on yours to improve that stiffness? Also is it confirmed that Shadow Panthers joints are looser? I thought he just had different/better tabs to secure the shoulders?

What I'm more worried about is the amount of Shadow Panther owners whose shoulders have broken...

Has this happened? I have to admit I didn't fine him that interesting so didn't follow people's reviews past the first few in hand opinions.

It's a short enough thread, on the last two pages after people started receiving him, 5 people reported the shoulder breaking:

    MP-34S Shadow Panther

Is that the same kind of breaks that Cheetor had?

Thanks for the link, I must have stopped reading that thread before those report came in. I'm not aware of Cheetor's shoulders 'crumbling' like that, it's certainly not encouraging that's for sure. I'm glad I got a 'good' one. Ack... These sorts of issues really put me off getting additional copies a figure or splashing out on them in the first place, it's pretty unacceptable for somthing like this to come up short quality wise concidering the high end prices they charge. I was actually concidering splashing out on Shadow Panther in an act of support for the BWMP's as well as I rather like thr mould...but this does put me off somewhat.
