I really like the looks of this Optimus, especially in alt mode. Fits right in scale with Voyager Megatron (again, in vehicle mode) and he isn't as gappy in the nose of the cab section like the Voyager version is (I saw plenty of these while I was in Japan and couldn't pull the trigger on it due to the weird alt mode). $30 seems reasonable for a toy of this size.

And can anyone who already bought this guy put up a photo/video review of him, preferably with comparisons with Voyager Megatron (in their alt modes)?

 

You know, I thought this thing was going to be around 20.00 or so, when it was first announced. I can't remember where I read that though, or I might be going slightly insane from the Hasbro rage. I want one of these but 30.00 dollars is harder to swing than 20.00 dollars. Can anyone confirm an original price point of 20.00 on this?

Just picked up this guy. What can I say, I'm a sucker for Primes with trailers. I do wish there was a little more to it though.

 

Nope if they wanted our money, they wouldn't cancel promised figures constantly.

At Botcon last yeah they said the SDCC Ultimate Prime was going to bet he only movie Prime packed in truck and trailer mode...

Agree completely. Cant say I am a huge fan of either Voyager Megs or Deluxe Prime in bot mode, but both really shine in truck mode next to each other. Prime (atleast the first Walmart release) has a great paintjob, and with that full truck front, almost looks like a hotwheels/full model in truck mode. I almost think it is the best looking Optimus in truck mode. When I hunt the full on trailer down, it will likely stay in its box though.

 

For the sake of an argument, I would say maybe they meant in that particular scale. Although all that goes out the window because of the Chinese New Year version was packed in vehicle mode with 2 different sets of box art.

 

I'm curious... if this is the same trailer released with the Japan Chronicles release, how does the trailer attach to the G1 cab? An actual G1 cab has a nub sticking up to attach the trailer, and this trailer has a nub sticking down that attaches to a hole in the back or movie Prime's alt mode. Nub + nub = doesn't connect?

Thanks! So the Chronicles G1 cab has a redesigned trailer connector. Looks like a mod is in order to make this compatible with OG G1 cabs, because the trailer does look nice sitting on one.

 

I usually do not bitch about prices, but for me, $30 is just WAY damn too much for this. It's like they are charging $10th for the package.

The prime is decent, I hate the backpack. The trailer is really just an eye piece. For $30 I don't care what the haters say, ultimate prime is WAAAY BETTER BUY for the money, seeings how I have the deluxe...I have lunar fire...so I would just be buying this for a shitty trailer.

One thing I will say, is that my boy would go absolutey grape-ape-shit over a prime with trailer in this scale. I seen at TRU, they have one of those lower quality car toys that offers a semi truck and trailer that actually looks great, and its paint job is a.complete rip off of movie prime. I think is rather buy that and mod it to fit a prime I already have for a third of the price.

I'm bummed all the shit was cancelled....and this is it...

I definitely agree about waiting until this is on clearance to nab it.

 

I'm going to say no, based off the fact that Classic Prime has a square nub sticking up, and the trailer requires a hold for it's nub to fit into.
