not mine, but saw him posted today on ebay IMO, a little too much "classic seeker" action, but overall a nice job... here's the link to the auction with more pics. http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-G1-Trans...oryZ4696QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem [att]17349[/att] [att]17350[/att]
O_O! Nnnnnniiiiccceeee! I like the silver Silverbolt concept. ....Except that makes too much sense. Change it to Bluebolt... or Silverblast.
I was very impressed with the combined mode, and the vehicle modes, but the robot modes are not at the same level. I agree...they're just too clearly seekers. The cone head isn't cool. And slingshot needs some sort of custom head.
yeah, i think this guy took it to the 10 yard line, then for some reason listed it. there isn't enough customization to the individual aerialbots, even the weapons/missles are not painted.
I've already got one...in a box still not complete, like the other many combiners I wish there were more hours in the day to work on...
Leader movie prime parts? The shoulders? Superion looks great. The individual bot modes leave a lot to be desired. Overall, the proportions are really good. Looking forward to everyone else's take on this guy.
While I applaud the effort, and it is awesome, I think it could have been more. Now Superion is aces for me, and clearly the standout mode, but the individuals (both alt and bot) seem to be phoned in a bit. With so many jet molds out there, more variety could have reaped huge gains! I would not have been offended if the artist dipped into a Classics Jetfire/Treadbolt mold or even X-overs Iron Man. Understandably, he was shooting for G1, but I feel he still missed the bullseye anyway, so why not give an updated perspective. With all that being said, it is a very worthy custom, and for sure better than what I would have been able to/would care to present for a Classics Combiner. It is, to my knowledge the first Superion in Classics format I've seen thus far. And for that I salute!! 5 Bays!!
i like his superion much better than his devastator, here's a link to his devy: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=350118545247
that's actually really sweet. But like every else has mentioned, not too keen on the little bot modes. Superion looks a bit lanky but it actually works for him. I've always imagined Superion has one of the more skinny/lanky combiners of all the teams. In some parts of the auction he calls it Devastator. Must have had a Devastator for sale and just cut and paste the auction to this new one but forgot to change some of the wording.
This is probably the best custom Superion I've seen that uses modern parts and figures. I do agree that the individual bots could've been done better, but it's pretty sweet as a whole. Sadly, in the custom world, Superion's underrepresented. Hopefully, the urge to make nothing but Devastators dies down a little and we start seeing other combiners.
I'm sure that will be the case. Also this represents a good basic blueprint for those interested in doing one! I'm far too backed up to add it to my list, but I do look forward to seeing some others have a go!
WOW! pretty SWEET! I like how Slingshot?(White with Blue & Yellow Strips) Looks But when it comes too the bot modes, more work could have been done to make them less Seeker looking, n Plane mode they looks cool! But in robot modes they look like starscreams n a Ramjet
This one looks good, but several artists are working on this custom as well. In addition to this thread, Ptitvite and REDLINE have been working on theirs for some time now (you can view Ptitvite's Air Raid thread, and I know he's even further along than his last update on it). Classics combiners FTW!
