I came upon this idea when I was running the Toys for Tots program at my job, but just now got around to trying it out. Someone had donated one of those Don't Break the Ice games and I noticed for the first time that the "ice" is just a bunch of white plastic cubes.

This is extremely simple (just the way I like my customs! :lol ), but I think the results are pretty awesome. I took the Don't Break the Ice cubes and sprayed them with a Krylon Fluorescent Cerise.

They may be a little big, but for about $10 total you get a pretty decent number of cubes for your display! I included a pic with ROTF Bruticus for size comparison.

Yeah, these look fantastic. I find these ideas, the real simple ones, are the best kind.

These look quite good. Better than I would have expected honestly. :)

Still though I'm quite satisfied with my papercraft ones in my sig. Were I to discover a bunch of these though I would be mighty tempted to do the same now...

Just picked up two sets of the game - need to find the paint now! Any special technique or just spray, rotate, spray?

Thanks for all of the comments, everyone! Glad you like 'em! :)

Nope, nothing special to it. I sprayed from about a foot away in light layers until I got the coverage that I wanted. It's impossible to tell by my pictures, but the cubes aren't entirely covered on all sides. There's a little white peeking through in places that I thought helped give it a little more of a glowing effect.

Can't wait to see pics of your cubes! :thumb
