The Battle in Space two pack with Rodimus and Cyclonus comes with a little metal Matrix neither of them can hold. It does have holes on the top though that chain could attach too. I've seen at least one person has done this.

So my questions are, where would I find a chain for it? How much? And how difficult to attach would it be?

    BING-ZA!

Maybe the dollar tree or 99 cent store might have something to use?

No Meijer around me so I can't get the set to see the matrix myself.

I'm sure you can get a necklace chain pretty cheap at a store's jewelry counter. That's not what I did, though.

Not having seen one in person, but judging relative size, you could probably dissect the chain from a keychain for it.

My chain is actually about four inches long, and hangs to around stomach height on a Deluxe. Not sure a keychain would be suitable then.

Michael's has several chains in different finishes that will accommodate the Matrix.

Also try Jo-Ann Fabrics or AC Moore

I went to Michael's looking for a chain, but they were all too long. Or did I look in the wrong place? I was in the area looking at chains for necklaces...

^This. The wife picked me up a length of silver chain just for this reason the other day at JoAnns.

Small chains don't seem to always have the links sealed closed. They can be bent open with pliers, letting you tailor the length.

The Matrix in that set originally came from the Anime Galvatron reissue

Most Needle nose plyers have a little cutter on them, so it is pretty easy to shorten the length. Also cut halfway through a loop so you can use it as the ring that attaches to the hole on the Matrix.

As others have mentioned, Michael's of any craft store, as well as Home Depot or Lowes (though I can't remember if they have chain that small). If all else fails, there is always cheap Walmart jewlery that should work. I cut a length off of some old chain around the house, and the matrix looks great now around Hotrod's neck (outside of the fact that it is all one color).

So this has nothing to do with chains but do you guys think acrylic paint would stick to the metal? I've got gold paint and I'm tempted to paint the ball but am concerned it wouldn't stick.
