Hey folks, just wanting to ask you all to keep our little area here in the Rio Grande Valley...ie...Deep South Texas in your prayers. Don't know if you all know but we are getting hit with a Hurricane.

It was a Cat. 1 but just updated to a Cat. 2. Here in the Rio Grande Valley we haven't had a Hurricane in a couple of years and a major one since 1967 when Hurricane Beulah hit. I mean its not so big or powerful but still its been a while for us. The fear in this storm is not the wind but the rain because we are prone to flooding and are expect 8 + inches to fall.

So if you pray keep the Rio Grande Valley, us folks, down here in them.

    Thanks guys.

    Be safe, guys.

Makes me feel lucky I live in the UK, where we don't get anything of that magnitude.

Hey X-Brawn, stay safe buddy. We get the remnants of the Hurricanes up here in central Alabama. But our gulf coast usually gets pounded as well. Gotta love the south - Hurricanes, tornadoes, humidity.

So Dolly finally came a shore. Left a path of destruction where it hit. Cameron County is in shambles with some flooding and lots of wind, structural damage.

Here in Hidalgo County, there is also lots of wind damage and lots of power outages. The city I live in wasn't so bad but saw some damage.

Thats guys for your thoughts and prayers. Still wondering about some of the other members that live here in the Valley. Anyone heard from Dayvcon?

Took some picture this morning when I went out to check the damage.

At least the damage doesn't look too severe, and you got rain, which you needed there (albeit too much).

Right the rain was what we needed. Here in the area I live in it was as bad but over in Cameron County...ie.. South Padre Island, Brownsville, and Harlingen got is worst. Even across the border was horrible.

I've watching the radar and saw the bands of rain going your way. Was your moms house OK, didn't get hit or anything? Hope she's alright.

Wow poor Whataburger, hope no one was hurt! My dad is a General Manager for them, here in the Valley and they were told they had to stay open as long as they could.
