I loved the game but I'm still kinda surprised it's getting a sequel since I wasn't sure how well the sales actually were. I didn't know many people who got it, but the production values seemed high.

The game will be in 2D with 3D environments, and will follow Trevor Belmont, Simon Belmont and two unrevealed playable characters at different points in history.

 

So looks like the LoS2 has a modern day setting.

 

I expected as much. What about the setting from the game trailer? So many questions--I want this game!

Also, at the end of the trailer, did I see Valve? Does that mean this is coming to steam or the steambox now?

 

The game looks excellent and it sounds like Konami actually cares about the line, and that's good to hear. Glad to see Alucard show up, and I'm a little surprised they referred to this as the conclusion. I wonder if they mean that as Dracula/Gabriel's story, or if they mean they are rebooting it yet again.

 

This is a self contained series. So in answer to your q Liege Prime KONAMI might just do that.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow

Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2

 

I was just under the impression it was all setting up for the series to continue with the Belmonts once Dracula is fully fleshed out.

 

I don't think that that is going to happen with this iteration of Castlevania.

 

It kinda already did with Mirror of Fate.

I already have the LoS soundtrack as I had bought the CE of the game when it first came out. As for Mirror, I Hope it actually sounds like a Castlevania soundtrack.

 

As do I. I'm guessing that the Ultimate Edition is more of an Expanded edition of the 1st games Soundtrack and not a re-branding of the CD released with the Premium Edition of Lords of Shadow.

 

Mirror of Fate didn't have many tracks, and the ones there I thought were just barrowed from LoS. Surprised they are selling it.

I have the LoS soundtrack from the CE just like you guys.
