Does anyone know if it's legal? I'm thinking about casting and selling them cheaper then official ones.

    Thanks, Rattraprules98

So, does that mean you'll become a 4th party company or something?

No, not legal. They have a copyright in the parts they make (assuming those parts themselves don't violate copyright). But people do stuff like that all the time, so it's your call..

    :D  LOL

Anyway I think that in you intention there's nothing of illegal if they didn't registered those molds... anyway cheaper would mean poorer quality ? Personally I love kos when them are of great quality...

Don't know if it is legal. Do know that it is pretty shitty. That being said, there are KOs of 3rd party stuff...look at City Commander.

negative comments aside, I do personally welcome a cheap reproduction of crazydevy parts because I think they sell them wayy too expensive for 'just a part' :p

but u need to take note on something, if you remold them, what kind of material will You use? resin? because I don't think a joints made of resin would be strong enough to hold all of devastator for a long time (CMIIW)

just my take, but you should try to cast one for yourself to see if it work, especially the thigh part that connect the leg

The only way it might not be illegal is if you made a mold from your friend's copy of it to make your self one, but that might cost as much if not more than buying them yourself. any way even making a single copy for personal use might be illegal.

you failed Ethics at the Academy, i assume.

if you bootleg The Dark Knight DVD and sell it for 5 bucks a pop, it's still illegal and so is this, imo.

never mind. argument isn't worth it.

I think if you sell it as a specified KO and not the original, then it should be okay. Just like the Chinese KO's of G1 are sold AS KO's.
I think it's only illegal and immoral if sold as genuine.
Neat idea, nice thought, but I'd just leave it alone.

I don't think you should have said anything to anybody here and just did it for a select few people. Not a full blown production run, just a small run. I personally see nothing wrong with it. Reproduction parts are fine, just as long as your not trying to trick anybody.

Kinda like them damn cliff jumper parts. They are not worth 200+. Somebody should reproduce them,

Also Jorod, his idea would be like, bootlegging the bootleg of Dark Knight.

It's not when you post about it on a message board. Duh. I'm mean really, does this question deserve an answer? No. No it doesn't.

Is illegal? Not sure. If these Crazy Devy people have the parts copyrighted then it's way illegal. But if they don't it's technically ok. Now, is it wrong? Yes it's wrong. Imean come on. If you were the one inventing something and making money off said thing would you like someone taking customers away from you by making a cheap reproduction of your invention? Probably not.

That said, I own a repro Devastator. What the fuck does it matter what I say lol.

Wow guys really? Get off the guys back. Casting is a very sensitive area of black and white. Take a look at the radicons forum and you will see multiple threads of people selling repro parts. We have reprolabels. Their are tons of people who collect kos of hasbro properties. What the poster was offering is no different then any of these other products

however where I do take issue with this idea it that crazy devy is still trying to sell this stuff. It's one thing to repro g1 parts because it doesn't hurt sales of the original item. I would also be ok with a Good version of the cliffjumper kit because fans project said they were done with the item. I'm other words find ways to help fans with out costing the designing company money

This is the issue EVERYONE has with it. so why tell them to get off his back?

making replicas of something that someone else made, and is selling right now, is a dick move. No one should be told to "get off the guy's back".

It's probably not illegal, but as Valkysas already said, it's a dick move.

I'm saying get off the guys back based on the tone and attitude of several of the responses in the thread. The poster asked a question with the intentions of trying to help other fans. We can tell him why his idea is not a good one with out being snotty pricks. There's no need to tell him he failed ethics or shouldn't have asked the question or call it a dick move.
