www.sonypictures.com/movies/casinoroyale/ It looks pretty good and back to the basics. I guess it should since it is suppossed to be a prequel of sorts. He looks to be an ok bond but the end of the trailer with him at the card table he looked kinda old. It comes out in November, I can't wait! Nothing could be worse than the last film.

Definitely not what I expected from the new Bond. His physique and age confuses me.

I am indeed excited! I think the bond series needed a new jolt and that this movie may be able to pull it off.

It looks pretty good ... was that Sebastien Foucan in there? That'd be pretty tight.

Don't know about Bond though ... looks young, looks old, I still would've liked to see Colin Farrell take a stab at it.

I think it'll be itneresting. Holding out on good or bad at the moment.

Also, I do not like the idea of the "new" M being the original M. That just doesn't make sense.

Yeah, the "M"thing has me shaking my head too. I wonder how the will do "Q" also. I think this movie may bring the fans back, it reminds me of the Timothy Dalton style bond. Back to the basics as I said.

Looks good to me also. I have skipped last 2 Brosnan movies because I thought it was too cliche and boring but I am excited with the new bond, even though he looks old and not too handsome. More Dalton than Connery. But the action looks solid and the babes are hot. Eva Green was scorching hot in The Dreamers and I hope she'll take a bit off for this movie too.

I read somewhere they both agreed to nudity, but it was probably just rumours.

    Hold on, Sony Pictures?

I thought Sony gave up the rights to Bond, in exchange for full rights to Spider-man, which is why they did the awful XXX series?

    Edit.
Ahh, according to IMDB SOny/Columbia are distributing, MGM are still the ones in charge. Must have been part of the deal.

Looks alright to be honest. The one thing that I never could quite believe was that Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan were able to kill men with thier bare hands. Connery and Dalton, yes, but physically the other 2 didn't make me believe they were dangerous animals with a licence to kill...

I'll be looking forward to seeing it. Whats the story with this anyway, is this just a reboot of the series, or is it a new man has been promoted to 00 status (to fill the 7 slot), thus renamed etc? That would be quite cool, but goes against the grain methinks.

Huh, Samantha Bond is in it too... she said she wouldn't do another if Brosnan weren't to return. Irrelevant trivia. Pay me no mind.

As I see it (as with all Bond films), each seperate Bond is essentially the same man, but just viewed from another angle. There's no chronological order to the films, or to the events that happen within them (e.g. even though Dr. No was obviously set in the sixties, with regards to this new Bond, Dr. No is still something he's yet to come across).

Try to view Royale as the start of Bond, his beginnings. Ignore all the Bond films you've seen so far, because for this Bond, none of those events have happened yet. He's not a trained killer, capable of killing you bare handed. Yet. That's still to come...

Sony doesent need a deal, they own MGM and operate it as an independant production subsidary.

As for the film, I can't imagine them making anything worse then the last couple short of channeling the spirits of Moonraker and OHMSS.

I don't know about this. He does look to "seasoned" to be a newbie Bond.

I think he can probably do it, but it just seems odd.

Then again, I'm no Bond fan.

Daniel Craig is a decent actor. He doesn't fit the stereotypical look of Bond, but I doubt it could be any worse than the mess that was the less Bond outing.

Hold on, wasn't this supposed to be a remake of the old Casino Royale? I'm liking what I see in the trailer (I need to get used to the new Bond though, since I'm from the Brosnan generation), but I could have sworn the old one was a silly comedy.

Everytime there's a new Bond, I have to get used to it, I'm from the Roger Moore era. (The Spy Who Loved Me is still my favourite ever Bond film.)

There was a Casino Royale flick, but it wasn't MGM. The people that made that one only had the rights to that one Ian Fleming book.

I haven't actually seen it, peoples views on it vary from it being funny or total crap.
