It's not even the same sector. oh well they can call it Predacon-Airachnid or hyphenate it or something and try again.

They don't sound all that similar to me. It's different enough to be passed, IMO. However, this means Hasbro will have to find another name for... whatever it is they're planning.

Well, time for brainstorming a new name!

I think they should submit Aerialachnid as a second try :p  Probably not close to anything this time around ;)

    R.I.P. sweet prince(ss).

My hopes for a winged (or jet/rocket powered) spider are alas, dashed.

Stop attaching the Predacon insignia to the Airachnid story. They're not related. Me and Lodril busted that one at the end of the last news thread.

I think that's a bit ridiculous, since "Airachnid" and "Arachnoid" are still CLEARLY two different words.

However, no big loss. It was a stupid name anyway. Glad to see it denied.

So the name's a no-no but there must still be a toy on the way, so the case isn't closed just yet.

Thanks :)  I posted it as I got it. I'll keep it since we don't have any pics of the character. I don't think that we'll be hearing from him/her again.

I can get how there would be a pronounciation similarity with the whole 'nid' noid' part being the only pronounciation change.

It might actually be lego who have the trademark on arachnoid

You are right, the other Trademark IS Lego's Airachnoid. :)
