This. None of these toys interest me. 4 Characters we've already seen, 2 of which are repaints. I shall wait for June 2nd to see any reveals by Hasbro for the rest of the DOTM line. Looking forward to seeing the 4 Deluxe toys we've yet to see images of.

Damn.... The movie better help move these things.

At this point I think deluxe Bumblebees are going to outnumber children in the world

    Psst.

"Buzzard" was the same name they had Laserbeak listed as, and apparently is still referred to as such in Walmart computers. This isn't the remold.

Someone at Hasbro has a way too inflated sense of how many Bumblebees (and to a lesser extent Optimus's) are going to sell and it's gonna hurt the whole line.

ZacWilliam, not saying he's not a popular toy with kids, but there's playing to that and then there's flooding the market with him to the point where he shelf warms. It seems they've charged that line this time... We'll see what happens...

Buzzard is not a repaint. Its just the code name Hasbro gave Laserbeak to prevent his actual identity from being released too early. Have you seen the DOTM toy listing from Walmart? It does the same thing for the Blue Mercedes amd Red Ferrari transformers. Their names are descriptions of their vehicle modes, rather than their character names.

Then again, it's hard to know what will shelfwarm and what won't. I wouldn't have expected Terradive and Thunderwing to sit on pegs like they have. Also, consider that once a mold is paid for, it's sometimes worth it to have a bunch of product out there so that when someone wants one, it'll be there; not every buyer is like us, only looking for the new stuff. Even if the stores eventually clearance those shelfwarmers, it's still a profit for Hasbro.

Market planning is a tough job, requiring a lot of analysis and risky decisions. If they decided to ship a bunch of extra BBs, you can be sure that someone spent a lot of time gaming out the possible results based on copious data, and concluded that even if it shelfwarms, it's the least risky and most likely profitable (over the long term) strategy.

Don't need to guess, history has already answered that for us:

1x Jolt - proven shelfwarmer, unlikely to have more screen time than he already got
1x Mudflap - proven shelfwarmer, especially since he's supposedly not in the movie
    1x Thundercracker
3x Cyberfire Bumblebee - let's see how the 3x Nitro versions do from Wave 3
    1x Buzzard
1x Specialist Ratchet - Ratchet tends to linger enough as it is, repaints seldom do any better. His voyager redecoes certainly stayed around for awhile.

3 proven shelfwarmers + 3 of something that's likely to clog the shelves=DoTM will stop the momentum dead at wave 4. It's not like there are a billion young boys out there that were too young for RoTF but will suddenly snap up all the Bumblebees from the last 3 waves *and* 3 more from wave 4

I'll probably be picking up Specialist Ratchet since I love that mold, and those colors look good. Will also get Buzzard if it is Laserbeak with a new head.
