    The timeless classic series!
The channel is called boomerang and isn't available in all markets.
If you are a dish network subscriber it should already be a part of your basic programming.
The first arc of the first episode was shown last night. This is a 3 part episode called 'the beginning".
Its on at 10:30 central. I cannot hardly wait for when the series really gets going. Just a heads up.

New He-Man series from a couple of years ago, or OLD He-Man series from the 80's?

Because one is a timeless classic, the other is just a re-hash that failed to captiviate anyone but lonely 20 year olds.

I'll take the re-hash, better then the lame classic by far, Cam Clarke as He-Man? and Voicebox VAs? no way does the classic hold a straw to them.

The new one is pretty entertaining...as a matter of fact, I've been able to pay it slightly more attention than watching the DVDs of the old one.

Give me the remake anyday. Acting was better, scripts were better, animation and designs were better... it was just plain better.

A lot of "timeless classics" weren't as good as we make them out to be...

    Remember "Transformers"?

I thought the new one was pretty good. There was a little too much weapon twirling, but other than that I liked it. I never did get in the habit of watching it regularly, though. I wanted to, but I never did. I'm not sure why. It was on right before or right after Armada wasn't it? Maybe that kept me away.

    Yup.

The new one was so awesome, it got cancelled, along with the toyline, the comic, and just about everything else.

    Yeah. Totally awesome.

    Aw, man... I'm so lonely...

But when i watch the new show, I can see they're trying to be a littel creative... After all, why let such a popular product just die out, when they can update it for today's market? The new MOTU isn't just for the old skool fans...

And besides, they really couldn't have it exactly like the original, with it's (Let's be honest) slightly homoerotic scenes... Still remember seeing Triklops wrestling He-Man on the DVD... I laughed me ass off at that...

I liked this series when it started but then lost interest and even dissed it, I believe. But after all that ABSOLUTELY AND INEXCUSABLE CRAP that Cartoon Network is trying to pass off as cartoons nowadays began infesting Toonami, I started wanting to watch this Heman. And after watching last night I'm liking it again. I'll tune in whenever I can. And Batman and Superman are after it, which is awesome. It would be a great night for me everyday if I didn't have to wake up early the next morning for school.

The cheesy plots and unintentional hilarity is what made MOTU so good in the first place, take that out and you've just got some generic action show about a scantily clad barbarian fighting a guy with a skull for a head.

Its like buying a porno mag, but finding tasteful fine art nude paintings inside rather then photos of big titted slappers with no clothes on.

I actually got into the new series this fall by dl'ing the episodes, and buying all the figures that I liked. even got castle grayskull and the two cats. the show's actually quite good, and retains the humor. I think it just didn't do well because while the shows and toys were, IMHO, quality, it's just not a subject (medieval/ sci-fi) that would appeal to the anime/card gaming kids of today.

    Quoted for truth
Its just too bad they didnt give their audience more credit by making it an ongoing story like avatar. Having skeletor get and lose the samurai armor over a story arc that spanned for a couple of eps would have been better than having it all happen in one episode. In fact it would have been best if they treated the show as a sword fighting shonnen jump anime.

the MOTU Redux and Armada both premeired on CN within a week of each other.
MOTU had a ridiculous concept backed up by spectacular execution
Armada had a spectacular concept soiled by ridiculous execution.

I'll take the new MOTU over Armada or any recent TF series. I don't like the sword and socery stuff as much as robots, but it doesn't insult my intelligence.

That's probably the thing that I was most disapointed with. It probably would have let itself very well to ongoing stories. If they had done that I'm sure I would have watched it regularly.

I liked the new one, up to a point. The action was fast, but usually the stories were totally bland, only really picking up for 'event' episodes. There were some very nice touches, but (and here's where I rate a show) would I watch them again? Nah.

The original show was flawed, hell, almost everything from the 80's was flawed, (everything except the first series of Baywatch that is ;)  ) but I find myself buying up all the UK DVD's that have 5 or 6 episodes on them, and when I see it, I'll be getting the full series set.

I dunno, it had a certain charm, that the new show lacked. Now that I think about it, Centurions shared that same 'I don't know what'. Maybe it's the cheesy morals sandwiched in. Or it could be the way every episode ends with our heroes laughing. Maybe it was the implied homoeroticsm. Who knows.
