Early in January, I scored a good bargain on a G1 Swoop: $40 shipped. The tail was missing, but he had all the pieces of his head, as well as both launchers, one missile, and the sword. I had the cash, so I pounced on him. As a fan of the G1 cartoon over the various comics, I decided to paint him into his cartoon colour scheme. It was simple to do. I also fitted his launchers with better springs.

    Here are the pictures:

By the way, does anybody have a spare Swoop missile they'd be willing to part with?

Thanks. Is there anything you think needs improvement?

I'd say scrap the stickers completely, then when you get some spare cash buy new ones. No stickers is better than ratty sticker IMO. :)

Getting new stickers is on the agenda.

Thanks. I used gold-plate spraypaint for the job.

Looks smooth. Please post more pics when you get the labels.
And, although the gold looks great would you consider using yellow instead to really reflect the cartoon?
I just got a beat-up Snarl and I've decided to do this.

No I would not, and I think it's a terrible idea. The cartoon used that yellow as a low-budget way of showing gold. Not having to deal with that, I will keep the gold.

Still doesn't change my mind. I prefer the unsimplified details on the Diaclone and Microchange mold characters, and I also prefer the gold and the chrome. They were what the cartoon was aiming to represent.
