I hate posting parts swaps in the Radicons section mainly because any clown with a screwdriver can do them. 99.9% of the Radicons stuff requires real skill!

With that said here's my almost toon accurate G1 Red Alert. I did some parts swapping with a G1 Red Alert and a G2 Sideswipe so he now has his proper red head and white legs. The only thing that missing is the red abdominal area but that is sadly one piece with the legs.

I coloured the hip piece in with a red sharpy. This is a must do conversion as far as I'm concerned and the only good reason to get a G2 Sideswipe :)

    Hey! I *LIKE* G2 Sideswipe! :p
But I *really* like your Cartoon Accurate Red Alert there! ...might have to find another G2 Swipe and do it myself sometime...

love this ! I am starting to give my old toys to my boy as I slowly let him watch G1 and I want to do this for him as I have an extra G2 sideswipe

was this difficult to do ? or was it pretty easy, unscrew and screw back together basically ? or was there breaking of glue and what not ?

I remember doing this swap about 20 years ago. It's still a great improvement. I don't know why Hasbro just didn't give him a red head in the first place. How hard would it have been to cast this in red.

I think I'll be doing that myself this week. I have a couple of extra G2 Sideswipes just so I can swap pieces around.

I prefer the toy designs for the g1 characters to the animation models:2c:

Ah; the underutilized art of the true G1 custom. Not my area of expertise, but I love seeing 'em.

It's simple, but it doesn't need to be anything more than that. Damn good job, dude!
