At a mall that's a bit far from where I live, I spotted a Car Robots God Magnus (R.I.D. Ultra Magnus) and I was thinking about buying it but I want to hear first from all of you. Should I watch out for something on God/Ultra Magnus? Any QC issues? Thoughts?

Depending on price, I'd pick it up. I know the USA version's tires would crack overtime; not sure if the Takara version had the same problem.

Oh and prepare to open your wallet again; you can't have Magnus without Prime:drool:

Unfortunatley, there's no CR/R.I.D. Prime there or I'd so pick that up.

I love my God Magnus/Ultra Magnus. Sure, the legs are long but, he is soooo cool. He is a little of a parts-former. I say go for it.

It kind of depends on why you want him. You have other Car Robots figures? You like car carriers? Large figures? Does he fill a hole in your collection?

The important things to keep in mind are that he has very limited articulation in both modes, so he has limited play value, and he's really designed to be a power-up for Fire Convoy/Optimus Prime, so if you don't have that figure or definite plans to get him in the near future, and none of the stuff I mentioned in the first paragraph applies, then he's probably not worth it. Unless the store is selling him for an insanely low price.

Basically what he said :)  Magnus becomes a really great figure when you have RID Optimus Prime, otherwise he's really mediocre, but hey if he's really dirt cheap... ;)

I saw that figure a couple of weeks ago at my local Toy shop.... they had it for $35.00 MIB. Was that a good price? I remember I was going to bite on it but then changed my mind...IDK.. I'm not familiar with RID figures..

I think 35 is pretty decent. The original Hasbro one retailed in the US for about $24 if I remember right.

He's pretty cool. He's legs remind me of Overlord and he is heavily armed. He is also a car carrier for play value and you can get some good fan modes out of him for a sorta base mode.

He's a lanky parts former. If you can live with that he's cool even without Prime.

I highly recommend him!!! I have the japanese and american versions. I have one set displayed as Omega Prime and the others as Powered up Prime and Magnus. These have a special place in my collection. Love me some RID!!!!

If you want a Magnus who's a car carrier until we get an official classics one that more than just a white Optimus, then I'd say go for it. And there's the aforementioned thing about having RiD Prime.

Otherwise... he's pretty meh, honestly, and this is coming from a guy who loves RiD.

Since there's a classics Voyager Magnus repaint of Optimus, Fansproject should of done a car carrier trailer for it, just like how they did with FP Trailer for OP. That would of been real cool...

He's great. Epic shelf presence. Great colours, detal, paint, articulation, though the last is a bit hampered by his long ass legs. If you own Optimus he becomes fucking incredible.

He's fine. He's better if you can also get a RID Optimus Prime.

I do dislike the fact his tires crack easily.

Magnus is a great toy. Other than the long legs it looks great. There weren't any QC issues I can think of, but over time the tires can crack and watch for paint wear on his grill.

Magnus is a fun toy, though rather hard to pose sometimes. To get the most out of him, you really do need the Optimus - he was built with the combined mode in mind as much as anything else.

Awesome car carrier mode too. The car carrier is simply awesome.
