Very nice. Coloring is less unfortunate too.

Yeah, looks great. I really want this... though like most people, I'd prefer it if the colors were reversed.

Though in the long run it's better, since if a 3P Slamdance does come out I'd rather have the version that's less like that.

... well, here's hoping for a 3P Slamdance. Or a Generations Slamdance from Blitzwing. Somehow, that's even less likely.

How was it that George Carlin phrased himself? Oh yes, this makes me want to participate in an involuntary personal protein spill.

    A few thoughts :

    1) I'd love to see them combined with an opposite colour version so you had an all red combined robot or an all blue combined robot - just to add another play option. but I suppose that is a bit unlikely as it has no canonical reason other than for the fun of it. But it would be perhaps a nice idea for another convention run or an "Other market" release.

    2) Do they share a linkage design with the Original Beast Box and Squawk Talk or do them combine in another way - if they combine in another way is that way compatible (or planned to be compatible) with other binary cassette combiner that might get homages so you can mix and match them to make new characters ?

2b) Likewise are the weapons swappable too ?

    3) Does The birds head look more flush if inverted in the combined robot mode ?

    4) Does Birdbomber have any feet in beast mode ?

    ---------

Anyway I like them both The only way they could be a little better perhaps is with some broader hint towards the cassette deco so they look a bit nicer when stored in Soundwave or Blaster. Though I understand why that isn't the case. and most people will leave them in Robot combined mode or beast mode - but it would be nice to have a little spray effect or a tampographed 'A-60 Normal Position' or similar things written on them. The bird could have had a few less gaps in it's cassette side to allow for the placement of a Cassette deco perhaps.

I suppose it might be possible to find an old Dictaphone cassette with stick on labels (like some had) and adapt those. The original Beast Box had a fairly uncomplex deco but it still looked not to bad as a cassette. so perhaps a tiny bit of masked colour and a little bit of lettraset will be enough on these too. I think the cassette deco on the original also had the added advantage of giving a bit of extra colour on Squawkbox's chest too.

    ------------

I'd like to see some images of the Beast modes with the weapons attached too please.

    They're not compatible.
They're most likely 5mm, so based off that, yes.
    Can't answer this one.
    Indeed he does.

Oooooohhh.... I like that. Damn, I don't really want both that and the regular one so if I can snag one of these I guess I'll just sell off the other one. Thanks for the photos!

why the balljoints when they do not use them?(the tail, the robot feet/wing tips)
and the cassette modes are pretty lame, i mean they look just like the figures doing yoga or something
and the beats modes are not that nicelly done, and since we are paying third party prices, even more a limited edition, why not some paint to make thinks blend better(like the tail , wings and some other parts, beak and i dont know)
    so, thanks but no thanks
oh, and the proportions on the robot mode are pretty bad
    -_-

ok, let me reformulate my question.
why do they use balljoints, when they tend to be more fragile than swivels and other type of joints, being an unnecessary cost on the design, when they do not need them and because of the design they do not serve a real or practical purpose, since they are positioned in a way they do not really look good on any position out of the ones for the main modes and they add no real improvement over the figure(like, again the balljoint on the feet, they are just resting there, so, no improvement) then the bird tail which would look rather silly if rotated, hinge joint would have provided the necessary movement for all the modes

so, again,id say no,it doesn't have good looking alt modes, the lack of paint, the size, the third party cost, the import cost, the extra design elements that make them a little bit expensive but do not really improve the figure and the overall design of the combined mode that look more like a more articulated but not exactly an improved version, because of having some weird proportions.
    but thats my personal opinion

    Are ball joints more expensive?

i design 3D models and balljoints are too much more complicated to do
    thats why
