I can see the cover now from the creator of Babylon 5 Captain power, what kids used to watch before power rangers. Come see badly rendered cgi characters from the 80's

I loved that show and the toys. I watched it every Saturday and played along with my XT7. Amazing fun back then.

The show ended up blowing my little mind back in the day with the finale.

Loved the show, but it ran only short. I would have loved toys of the show.

Wow, totally forgot about this show. I really liked it back when I was a kid, but my ABC affiliate pre-empted it all the time so I very rarely got to actually see it. May have to pick up the dvd.

I think it was an underrated toyline. The show, I think they oversell it a bit too much in the vid, but it was memorable for those that did follow it. I would fully support a re-imagining of this series and franchise should it come to pass (and not suck balls).

I can guarantee you that the CGI was top notch back then ;)

I was scared out of my wits every time one of the BioDreads appeared on screen. Too bad the show only ran for one season, but I guess it was difficult to do a dark, gloomy story, aimed at kids and adults at the same time.

I know it was, the show was pretty expensive for it's time,so when the toys didn't sell as much as they wanted, it didn't get a second season.

I personally prefered the "pseudo videogame" animated VHS tapes they bundled with the toys, but that's probably just me.

I would've liked to get a chance to test those games out. Or to see some of the toys even! They never saw release here in Sweden AFAIK. Did they make any BioDread figures?

They made Lord Dredd and I think two version of the flying BioDrones, one black and one silver. I think they also made a figure of the tanktread-footed ones, but they were part of the rarer third wave.

If anyone has a VCR at BotCon I can bring my VHS tapes and my XT-7 and you can play you some Captain Power!

I'm really stoked for this, as I loved the original show. While I loved a lot of 80s shows, episodes from Captain Power still stick with me and, for me and a lot of other people most likely, it was a gateway drug to other science fiction. How many kids shows have, essentially, Hitler Youth running around in them? And David Hemblin, who played Lord Dread and would later go on to voice Magneto in the 90s X-Men cartoon on Fox, was a great villain, and actually had some depth to him. I can't wait to see the series on DVD and, if they really are relaunching it, I'm interested to see how they'll handle it.

So, if they are putting the old analog taped episodes onto DVD, would you say that they are... digitizing... them?

It looks like DVD only for the home video release. When asked about a Blu-Ray release by a fan, they gave this response:
