'Captain America: First Avenger' Sequel Release Date Set - Hollywood Reporter
Please be Baron Zemo in the sequel!
^^ Seconded. Loved the first movie and I'm really looking forward to the next.
Since Cap is in the present day, t would interesting if there was a recurring plot point where it cuts back and forth between the 40s where we get to see how Peggy Carter and the Howling Commandos are doing without Captain America. Also the main villain would be in the past with Peggy and the Commandos while Cap is looking for answers.
I loved the first movie and I can't wait to see this one too. Is Joe Johnston returning as director. If he is, I think he said something about bringing in Winter Soldier.
My personal favorite of the pre-Avengers films.
I hope Johnston returns. He brought an old-school Spielbergian vibe in The First Avenger that made it so fun to watch.
Oh dear lord yes. Felt like I was watching Raiders for the first time.
He said that that was his intention and I think he succeeded at it. I knew that Johnston would make a great Captain America movie after I saw The Rocketeer. I really hope he returns for the sequel.
Me too. Caught the Rocketeer on some movie channel one day, and sure enough, "Directed by Joe Johnston." I freaked. This is the dude who's doing Cap?! YES! And I was not disappointed.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! the captia america was boring it had so many slow parts i just saw it and i fast foward through almost the whole film! please no more sequel!
Looking forward to it. Bring on Winter Soldier!
Everything I've read so far indicates that Joe Johnston is not going to return for the sequel (which I think is unfortunate because he did a very good job on the first one) They are looking for directors and the reported potential list includes -
•F. Gary Gray, a director who’s worked in such genres as stoner comedies (Friday), high-octane capers (The Italian Job), and violent crime thrillers (Law Abiding Citizen).
•George Nolfi, the co-screenwriter of such films as Ocean’s Twelve and The Bourne Ultimatum, who made his writing/directing debut with last year’s sci-fi romance/thriller The Adjustment Bureau.
•Anthony and Joseph Russo, the brotherly filmmaking duo behind comedies like Welcome to Collinwood and You, Me and Dupreee. The pair has also served as co-showrunners/writers on Community.
^This, and Baron Strucker.
And Winter Soldier and Sharon Carter.
F. Gary Gray dropped out of the running for director.
You dont have any credentials to protest against the sequel. You merely watched for Action scenes. A film is more than action, child.
Kevin Feige THOR 2, IRON MAN 3, AVENGERS Sequel Interview
Nah, leave Zemo for The Masters of Evil in the third Avengers movie, go with Von Strucker, since they already have HYDRA there, and without Red Skull, they need someone...BARON. WOLFGANG. VON. STRUCKER.
Played by Jeremy Irons. A.k.a Scar from the Lion King. Seriously. Von Strucker singing Be Prepared to his HYDRA allies might be the best imagery I've ever thought of.
I can see that being awesome. I love Jeremy Irons though I don't know how he'll look being a chromedome?
I can also see Ralph Fiennes working as Baron Strucker too.
Well, I don't think he ever played a fully bald character, but you can have an idea from his role on Reversal of Fortune [where he's almost bald]:
There is also a picture of him with a monocle somewhere.
I don't know, nothing against Fiennes, but I think he looks too "pretty" for Von Strucker, he is Von Strucker, a wrinkled old man with a reaaaally unfriendly face, Fiennes looks like he could still be on his twenties and be a supermodel at the same time, so that makes it a bit difficult for him to work without some make-up.
Irons, however, has the more wrinkled and beaten up features I'd look for.
You are entitled to your opinion, tfprime32, but it's an opinion that I haven't heard very many people share.
