Well, the first issue of the return of Steve Rogers has arrived. What did everyone think?

Myself...I dunno, how reasoning behind Steve's return seems rather lame, but hopefully Brubaker will come through.

Yeah, based on the events of Captain America 600, Bucky and Black Widow infiltrate The HAMMER heli-carrier. Meanwhile, Sharon and Sam Wilson have a discussion with Hank Pym and The Vision about the day that she shot Steve and the day she was tortured by Zola and the Red Skull. Can't remember the issue, but she had this vision of Steve. Eventually, they all come to the conclusion based on the evidence that Steve really isn't dead. Where is he? Back at the heli-carrier, Bucky and BW are looking for Zola's torture machine, but end up finding themselves caught ina trap by the Dark Avengers. Cut to a scene between Zola and Norman Obsorn, where Zola reveals that the whole purpose behind the assassination was
to capture Steve by freezing him in time somehow making the world think he was actually dead, but the experiment failed and now the soul of Steve Rogers is bouncing around various moments of his life.

Well, on the bright side, I guess it doesn't retcon Thor meeting his Soul.

hmmmm. Sounds...meh, but given the work Brubaker is capable of I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

As long as Bucky stays Captain America when all is said and done I'll be satisfied. My reason is because there is just more impact on a character when they stay dead (yeah I know Bucky was resurrected too, but still) and since characters can't really stay dead these days, Jean Grey notwithstanding, at least a passing of the torch can still stay in effect and bring more intrigue to the Captain America character along with new challenges. Just my thoughts on the matter.

I Think that even after Steve Rodgers Essence is put back into his body and he re-awakens that hes just gonna ask Winter Soldier to continue wearing the suit

This^ is what I'm hoping for at least. I was actually expecting Steve to take on an even higher leadership role after relinquishing his Captain America warrior duties to Bucky, if it goes in that direction. For example organizing a new and improved S.H.I.E.L.D and becoming it's director (who wouldn't follow him in that role out of the majority of Heroes if Steve ran it HIS way?).

I'm on board with Bucky remaining Cap. It makes the character of Captain America much more interesting when you have a guy who's idolized Cap all his life, now trying to fill his shoes, and it's even better when Bucky really does step up to embody what Cap should be.

(Kind of like if Rodimus Prime ever got out of his funk and got his stuff together.)

    Wouldn't it be funny if
if their souls ended up in each other's bodies?

^ THIS PLZ. Hopefully Steve sees the corruption Osbourne has done and decides to do something about it--like take over as head of HAMMER or something.

Hmm...a Steve Rogers ran S.H.I.E.L.D. like program...sounds interesting. I'm not sure what'll be the outcome (i.e. who will be Captain America), but I was all ready to drop this title until I read #600 and Reborn #1. Now I gotta stay on to at least figure out what's going on.

Doesn't look like that all. Marvel has pretty much all but stated Steve is coming back as Captain America.
