To quote some of my favorite movies, "I have a bad feeling about this."

Why not the director from the first film?

They worked on Arrested Development and Community. I guess this could work. You know, if Cap 2 were a fucking comedy.

He'd rather waste time trying to make a Boba Fett movie.

Probably not any worse an idea than getting the guy who had only done the Justin Bieber movie to direct the new GI Joe.

Well, Cap lived in the 1940s and he just woke back up to the 21st century... I guess they want to portray him a man out of time? Kinda like how Thor functioned while exiled on earth.

Seems like a very odd choice to me, but I trust that the people at Marvel know what they are doing. Remember they got that one guy who made "Elf" to direct Iron Man? And that turned out to be pretty decent, right? I really enjoyed CA:TFA so I have high hopes for the sequel.

This script better be something incredible for them to work with. I have hardly any faith in this movie, considering I only kinda liked the first, and this seems to be much worse already.

Cap is my least favorite Avenger so if the sequel isn't great I won't be that bothered.

I think the character needs bringing into the modern age because the whole idea of America being the symbol of all that's good and honorable in the world is badly outdated.

Actually, this is probably more of a move on Marvel's/Disney's part than it is the original director's. Apparently they sort of want to do what the Harry Potter, Twilight, etc. movies have done - get new directors per sequel. At least according to Kenneth Branagh who directed the first Thor movie and will not be returning for Thor 2. But who knows for sure - neither Marvel or Disney have ever confirmed it as a strategy they currently do or want to do.

I don't think that entirely true, or there are exceptions, as I'm sure Favreau could have done the Iron Man sequel if he wanted, and they sure as hell want Whedon back.

In my opinion, the first Cap. America film was nothing less than simply amazing, and one of my top picks in the "Avengers" movie series (narrowly beating out the actual Avengers movie). The bar has been set high, so we can only hope that Marvel can do it again.

Also, I'm betting we'll be seeing Winter Soldier. We never saw Bucky actually die, and for not even being in the film the WS got at least two toys in the associated figure line.

But that's kind of the point. For the past 30+ years, Captain America has provided the contrast between what America claims it wants to be and what it actually is. If you read the comics, Cap's disenchantment with his country has been a recurring theme, starting way back in the Englehart run of the 1970s.

I'd like to see Baron Zemo in this one and maybe the return of Red Skull at the end.
