I did him as a entry into a weekly art contest on another forum. Of course, me being me and all, I mess up the paintjob halfway through without enough time to strip the paint and paint him over again. So I salvaged what I could of the paintjob and finished him really quickly (since I had like no time left anyway). I only have the one picture of him right now taken for the contest, but I'll update when I come back to him after another project or two. He's made from a Marvel Crossovers Grey Hulk, with his head shaved and hot glue being used to sculpt his beard and mohawk. Then I just added Zangief's signature scars and there you have it. He won the contest by the way, and then went on to be featured on Kotaku. = June 22 edit= Finally got around to redoing him. I redid his legs and gave them some finer touches. The candy red is now smooth and topped with my usual scuffs. I also really dig the thighs. I love how they turned out; flat black with drybrushed grey topped with the slightest chrome drybrushing. Oh yeah, he has a beefy cannon worthy of Zangief. It's just what Jin Saotome did with his Hulk/Megatron figure, I just replicated it (with a little advice from Jin). Couldn't get rid of those damned blue spots no matter how hard I tried.
Awesome!! Seems to need a few more scars but that's pretty cool. Plans to do anymore SF characters? -G
I don't have any plans right now, though I do plan to keep SF in mind when looking through molds. It's just Hulk made such a perfect Zangief after adding only the beard and mohawk, I had to do him. And thank you to everyone who likes him.
hmmm, also what bout the other series made by capcom? like darkstalkers or megaman... OH OH what bout resident evil or viewtiful joe? other then that, awesome custom of everyone's favorite video game Russian wrestler
That is quality! If you did some 'scars' on the alt mode it would look like camo. Any others planned?? Ken as a red sports car comes to mind.
Shinobitron beat me to it a long time ago. I might look into a mold for Ken/Ryu actually. Unfortunately I haven't seen many non-Scorponok toys locally, and ordering online drains the money I don't have right out of me.
This is awesome. I was a huge fan of the Capcom Versus series (namely MVC2) for a number of years. Now have him FAB Revoltech Guile, lol.
Great concept. I would suggest Megatron for M. Bison, since they have so much in common. The Fallen could be Akuma.
Sorry for the necro post, but I finally got the time to redo his legs and add the cannon I wanted, so I updated the front post with some new pictures.
This is probably one of my favorite Transformer molds to come out in a while. There's a Guts Man custom floating around that was made from this mold. Have you seen it? It's awesome! Anyway, I really dig your improvements. The gun barrel looks great, and I love the texture in the hair. The only nitpick I could point out for improvement is some of the joints have rubbed your paint work away. - Alty
