So I went toy shopping yesterday and finally found my ROTF Mindwipe. Hooray.

But at all three stores I found Deluxe ROTF Brawns. And while I pick him up at every store, I always find myself putting him back down. Despite having the opportunity to pay 9 bucks for him.

I think it's that I have a G1 inspired collection. While toys like Bludgeon and Mindwipe fit in, the colors and name aren't quite enough to get past the parts of this toy that aren't quite the bruising minibot of old.

Am I alone in this kind of thing? Has Hasbro finally found a limit to the effect of the nostalgia marketing they've traded on for you? Should I go back for Brawn?

    Let him come to you.

I don't really have much interest in him either.

The toy is a shellformer mess. I say stay away from him. I bought it, and returned it within the same day.

Glad to hear I'm not crazy. I suspected shellformer thing. By the way, good to see another Flyers fan around here.

I got him and loved him at first... but then... I don't know what happened. He didn't really fit in well enough with my Classics collection so he got put on the Movie shelf... And then the movie shelf got bumped down, then again, and took him down with it. I'm really not that interested in the movie look anymore. Although, he is one of the coolest movie figures to come out in a long time.

get him hes pretty awesome and the dual pistols add some badassery to him. the shellformer bit isnt as bad as some people say, yuo can move it all so none of it really gets in the way of posing.

Cooler than Lockdown? That guy is the poster child for Deluxe Superiority.

I disagree with you there. I have him and find him very meh, maybe its the kibble on the arms and lack of real poseability in said arms

I thought it looked like a great toy but didn't really say Brawn to me. I figured I would wait for a recolor. Then it hit me that with some paint it would make a great Roadbuster.

I find him to be one of the most poseable figures in my collection. You can do so much with those joints! And as to the kibble, it always struck me more as kind of the result of his whole self-made upgrade thing. He's not supposed to look sleek and humanoid to me, he's supposed to be bumpy with rough bits.

Now if you were to get into the arms popping off thing, I could maybe take a ride down that road for a while...

i have only 13 rotf figures and i think Brawn is the second best among them, after the Leader Prime. Definitely the best deluxe for me. About Lockdown, he's too much animated looking, and i don't care for animated. a realistic alt mode is as important as a menacing robot mode to me. And Brawn has the perfect blend.

Brawn is one of my faves. I see the shoulder kibble as a homage to the shoulder door 'wings' on the G1 toy.

It really only needs a new head more than anything. I wish the fan communities would get on that like the old days...

I like the Brawn figure so much, I had to buy two of him! Shelfwarmer, yes, because he isn't in the movie. But the mold in my opinion is pretty good, minus the huge alt mode shells on his back. Really great to pose, and just a solid figure.
