Will post more info soon, but this will b something very very special :D  hehe

For now I'll just tell u the secret I did so far, just painted 3coats of transparent red revell email paint over an already chrome part...

obviously this was a test piece but if comments are positive I'll do the complete armor and maybe sumtin extra here and there ;)

    C&C Welcome!

    UPDATE1:
    SURPRISE MUTHAFOCKAH!!

    UPDATE2:
Well while my GF was making a massive dinner I had time 2 do sum painting :)

    UPDATE3:
SHIT there might b a big problem :(  both 1/100 scale..
but check the pic, they r significantly smaller, so the articulated metal candy chrome is of :(  what I'll do now is just build the model kit completely G1 style and just sell it... after that I'll paint the armor that comes with the metal version or set a loose already red armor set and re-size a set of original G1 Jetfire stickers (some1 who can send my a HQ scan?? thnx)

    UPDATE4:
I decide 2 start building the kit but I'll only glue the necessary parts..
for a model kit like this its pretty decent articulated, but I might add more :)

Yes, it's a very cool effect! Unfortunately, paint tends to scratch off chrome very easily, so handle carefully :)

You can get a very similar effect by painting parts chrome silver then painting a transparent color over that, creates a very nice anodized look and can be a bit more durable. Very durable if you use lacquers because they fuse with the plastic.

Love it! But yeah chrome is hard to paint on, and its not like you can sand it down to help the paint adhere.

That's from your new Bandai Hi Metal version eh !? I was wondering about it already heheh. So far, it looks like a good artistic choice.

I would go this way as well. Paint and chrome never go well.

and otherwise I'll call it battle-damage ;)  thnx!

LOL :p  You couldn't wait huh? Me neither but I has so many things 2 finish b4 the 20th first, so after that I go crazy on these!!

Yeah I knew It would b hard, but actually tried my best at scraping it of with my nails and it didn't come of :O I was extremely surprised about that btw!
