Hey guys, i had a custom that i had done, and i already coated it with crystal clear for protection...

the problem is that i actually wanna repaint a small part of it.. and redo a section...

my question is can i repaint over it and then recoat it with crystal clear? or should i clean that area all over again first?

    any thoughts?

honestly if you want to repaint it you should remove the clear coat, which will likely take a little bit of elbow grease along with 91% alcohol.

If it's just a little detail painting it should be okay. Sand it down a little then paint over it. But if it's a large surface or a major moving part (or a rubbing area), you're better off just stripping it of paint.

Sanding will make scuffs on the surface,
making it easier for the paint to take.
but if there's the possibility that the paint
is too thick, its better you strip the paint.
