I went to the Camaro site, and tried using their "Build your own" feature, for sh!ts and giggles, just to see what "Bumblebee" would cost, could I afford an new car. I came out at a hefty $36k, but found that building a ROTF Bumblebee is pretty much undoable:

Rally Stripes package: Not the same as the movie stripes.
    Hood Scoop: Not available.
    Grille Design: Different.

The movie version appears to have been customized Ironhide-Style to the point of being very distinctive. While this is ok, it seems strange they'd use ROTF as such a huge literal advertising vehicle, and then not actually allow wealthier TF fans to buy cars from the movie.

Especially the badass Camaro, which is a more practical car than the gigantic Topkick.

Honestly, it's really not that uniquely distinctive. I see those new Mustangs around town in bright yello with the two stripes and my mind always goes "Oh look, Bumblebee!"

    I mean this: http://www.egmcartech.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/2007_sema_bumblebee_camaro_chevy_live_image001.jpg

    versus this: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/attachments/europe/8560d1118461234-new-2005-mustang-gt-roush-owner-img_0928-1.jpg

Oh there are definitely differences, but when they're driving by they're pretty negligable.

Im sure if you had enough money you could get a spot on match, that said it could cost you plenty more than $36,000 to get it so accurate

idk, when I see that Mustang I always think 'Alt Grimlock' not B.Bee, regardless of colors, it's a different profile and feel to the car.

Though either car would be awesome to own.

Personally I want a little yellow hatchback with a red dome on top and a black stripe like Ani B.Bee.

You know, or the Knight Rider car, Lol.

The stripes aren't right. They're farther apart in the movie, and extend past the hood in the front, and down the back.

Hey! My face only looks so large because.... the poop from which my head is comprised is... so small.

    It's a condition I was born with.

    Ebay:
thats a Roush Mustang and i think either Steve Saleen or Roush built the first BumbleBee on a GTO frame/engine so that could be a Ford color

unless you spend extra money to get a lot of custom work done to the cars ie paint, body kits, exhaust, and wheels and tires.

That just seems bizarre. Why go to such lengths to use Transformers as a marketing tool for real-life cars, when none of the cars from the movie are for sale?

I mean, G1 and Animated market toys, and when you go to the toy store, there they are! I can only imagine if we had gone to the store in 1984 and they had said, "Sorry, but the characters from the actual cartoon aren't for sale. How about these?"

Probably because the movie doesn't just disappear after it leaves theaters. People still recognize the new Camaro as Bumblebee from the movie.

And it would not cost much to get a car that looks just like Bumblebee from TF1. You could do it for about $25k. It would be a 305HP V6 but you could still do it on the cheap.
