I've never really liked the classics Optimus or Megatron. So ive always tried to replace them with others, like WFC op's and megs and the deluxe optimus (bit small!). What do you all think. I think the pink arcee, wheeljack and cliffjumper could slot in no problem

Nope, but I may replace my Universe Ratchet with TFP Ratchet.

I'll shoehorn toys from Classics, Generations, Henkei, Universe, onto my shelf to get my hands on (what i think are) the best color schemes.

But shoehorning MOLDS drives me mad, and i've never disliked any of the official molds so much so that i wouldn't buy them.

Prime molds? No, they don't fit.

I'm looking very much forward to FOC Shockwave though. That's a guy who should NOT have an earth mode anyway.

imo, the two styles look a bit out of place. I'm not a shelf nazi though so if you like it they way it is, by all means go with what you think looks best. your toys after all.

animated and prime to me are very similar, so I will be displaying those together in my collection.

I've never been keen on arcee anyway. But i havent got any ratchet or ironhides. So I will pick up Ratchet for my classics shelf. Cant ironhide ever appearing in the show but he might get a toy (fingers crossed in red)

From what I've seen Prime Wheeljack looks like he could stand in for Classics Wheeljack, but the rest don't really fit.

Prime molds just wont work next to classics. Prime is far to stylized to fit in and look good with classics.

At least just the First Editions, along with Energon Decepticons, Omincons, Terrocons, Autobot Ultras, Cybertron, and Animated.

The esthetics do not match. To me they are too different to be combined into one line.

With the appropriate mods, Ratchet and Wheeljack could fit. But everything else seems to be too stylized.

I'd make an argument for the NYCC pink Arcee, but even then it'd probably be a weak argument.

Bulkhead and Megatron if I wanted a different version to stand in for the Straxus-Clone.

No, third party developers have that covered.

I don't see it working.. the overall design on Prime figures is not justified to fit in with Classics.

I know some say that NYCC Prime Pink Arcee is a good stand in for classics, but to me it doesn't work. In my case, I use an Energon Arcee, she's a bit short but works great in the classics shelf until we get something official from Has.

Thinking about it, the molds could serve as bases for some pretty good Animated customs. The aesthetics are closer to one another than the aforementioned Classics.

Those 3rd party figs don't look like they fit in either. Just my opinion.

By omitting the comma, it looks like he agrees with you. Arcee especially looks awful.

Classics don't even go with all other Classics, as some of the figures in the line are repaints from other lines like Cybertron/Galaxy Force. :lol

It's really going to come down to a matter of personal opinion of how each mold from a particular line works in a group of figures from another line. There's no definitive answer.

..I will throw my two cents in, though, and say First Edition Prime Cliffjumper looks pretty sweet standing next to my IDW Wreckers group. So there may be potential for him in a Classics group somewhere.. :rip

    Definitely not.
