After reading a lot of the posts on Youtube about the new clip a vast majority of the people commenting really hate the artwork/direction of the new show. I am not trying to start a bash thread or anything like that at all but have a serious question. If Transformers Animated does not do well will that impact a lot of the other Transformers such as future shows or hurt other toylines like Classics, maybe any Movie toys rereleases, etc.?

    agreed

but i dont think that it will be the death of the series i mean if that was the case then RID and Cybertron would have killed the series! It will do fine. I mean i think i remember people saying Beast Wars would kill the series and it did pretty good.

Seriously, Transformers has been around for ~ 20 years, one bad show isn't going to kill. Heck, three
horrible shows in a row couldn't accomplish that feat, and that was prior to the resurgence in popularity the movie has given it.

No, it won't kill the franchise. There's still Classics 2.0 & 2 more movies coming out. In the end it will be like every other TF series, some will love it, some will hate it. No big deal.

I personally just want it to be over & done with as fast as possible. Bring on Classics 2.0!!! I hope they NEVER use this style on TFs ever again. They also need to keep Cartoon Network as far away from TFs as possible.

    Cartoon Network SUCKS! :puke:

As you can see from this thread, Cybertron was an awesome show but everybody hates it. So it really doesn't matter if we like or dislike a TF series, Transformers will keep on going!

(Ha! The title of this thread says "NO BASHING" but Cybertron got bashed twice already.)

If Action Masters (Non-transforming Transformers) and Animorphs couldn't kill the line, nothing will.

Typing your thread title followed the phrase "Serious Question" is like dividing by zero.

Anyone that can actually go online and complain about the artwork and direction of the new show is quite plainly not the target demographic. So to answer your question, no Animated will not kill Transformers. People have been asking this question forever now with every new line that comes out.

Animated is going to be one of Cartoon Network's featured shows. Take the fan base from previously, add in movie fans, and shake with a dash of Cartoon Network kids and you've got a VERY large pool to buy toys.

The only way that Animated could kill the franchise is if everyone in the TF department of both Hasbro and Takara/Tomy were on an airplane that crashed in the Pacific Ocean, or disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle while on their way to celebrate the show's success.

No. Just because a few people feel sour towards animated doesn't mean the world shares their opinion. Beleive it or not, most kids actually like that style of animation.

It's only fair some won't like it, after the uber-realistic-ness detail and PG-13-goodness of the movie it's hard to go back to the kiddie style so soon. (Though it'll have been roughly a year since when it hits)

This will not hurt the franchise, it will solidify it. Cartoon is hurting in the rating, they want the next titans. Since the movie I've noticed kids calling all robot toys transformers instead of zords. The momentum from the movie alone will get people to tune in. They will stay because it'll be a good show.

It may not be everything you want but if you were 9, you'd skip dinner to watch it.

I doubt it since a Transformers movie #2 is in the horizon. If the new cartoon fails to deliver then it fails I don't think it will spell the demise of the franchise. Its hard to tell if the new TF toon will be a hit or not. I myself is not a fan of the Jay Leno type drawings and ala Batman animation style characters. If one things certain its not going to be a classic like G1.

    mean

You mean a show that will pull in more children as a fanbase? Oh noes, more audience, more product, and more money will indeed kill the franchise.

I think it will keep the "dream" alive and be the G1 to kids these days, that will be on boards like this in the future.

Yeah I feel the same way too. I am just glad that it will not hurt the franchise overall. Thanks for the honest answers and I am glad we can still look forward to more Transformers in the future regardless. I was just thinking about it because of the overall comments.

Of course not. Kids will like this thing, so they will give Transformers a push on popularity.

Older fans like us will still buy the figures, keeping Transformers alive.

I think you have misunderstood the original post in that the assumption is that it does not do well. The opposite case which is probable as well would obviously be financially and goodwill inducing to the Transformer brand.
