What an annoying theme song. I bet there were a rise in parental suicides the day/hour this show's theme aired.

It's annoying but it's also 33 years old. They had more of a tolerance back then. :)

Actually, that theme song is fairly average when considering 1970s anime themes.

You could have stopped after Mazinger and Getter and made your point just as well ;)

I've actually got a Gokin toy of Mechander Robo, it's kinda fun. You pull his fists out and they make the shields on his arms spin around in a completely "would never pass safety tests today" kind of way.

I actually find theme songs like that far more tolerable and interesting than the generic J-pop theme songs in most modern anime. The opening song for the original Lupin III series is still my favorite opening song ever.

The US DVDs for the original Orguss were manufactured to order and only available for a few months, there probably isn't very many copies of them around and they will all be sitting on the shelves of people that specifically wanted the show.

The 70s. An era where the theme song would repeat the robots name as much as possible. :D  (need to get the name ironed into the kid's head so they know what toy to tell the parents to buy)

The 70s. An era where the theme song actually had something to do with the show that it was for.
