If you need advice for checkers, then you need to find a new game.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?

They have really big checkers on the porch at Cracker Barrel. When you have an opportunity, swing by CB with one of your checker playing buddies...big checkers have this inherent tendency to allow you to focus on the game better. I always beat my 8 year old son when we play at CB, and I attribute that to the big checkers.

Those be some good biscuits. I always want to ask for more but fear that the server will think I'm a pig. Me and my self-conscious hang-ups.

Best strategy: win the game. If you lose then you're doing it wrong.

i mean like keeping all your checker pieces in the back row is a good strategy until it your last and final option you got to make. What other strategies are good.

Sacrifice some of your pieces early on to throw off whoever you are playing. If its early enough chances are if they jump you you can jump them, thinning out the playing field, then its up to you.

Another thing is that whenever I play I always start by moving my pieces on the sides. Seems to work for me and I have seriously never lost a game in years! My wife won't even play with me at all!

I know. Makes me wonder where the heck they got such big checkers. There's been times I was tempted to play checkers with someone while my family waits for a table whenever we go out to dinner at Cracker Barrel.

Damn... it's been ages since I last played checkers. :lol
