I guess if you want to look at it that way you can, but some people, for some reason, refuse to listen to HMS when they continue to say that their story is tied to G1.

It doesn't help that Hasbro continues to insist it's part of the same "continuity family" as Transformers Prime.

Why anyone listens to people not writing the stories is astounding.

People listen because ultimately they are the one in charge of the brand and can "veto" any decision a company working under them makes.

I don't recall them saying that this was a prequel to G1. Can I get a quote? The last thing I read from HMS was how this was in the alligned continuity - written by HMS, not Hasbro in Gameinformer.

And yet that hasn't happened. Matt has said that Hasbro was very supportive in their endeavors. The only thing that caused pause was the Dinobots, but even that HMS was able to overcome.

There was a G4 video with Matt explaining how WFC syncs up with the G1 cartoon--I don't recall which one exactly, sorry. Dave, too, however has also said a few times that their story preludes the original cartoon. That said, Matt addressed the inconsistencies in their story by pointing out that G1 isn't perfect, that it contradicts itself at times. He also noted that the cartoon is is pretty much the core of their love of the brand and what they're targeting, but also noted that they drew from the comics too (Grimlock/Shockwave), Transformers Prime (Cliffjumper's head/Nemesis) and even the live action movies (music themes and transforming weaponized hands).

I do seem to remember HMS saying how exciting it to have their story being used as canon for the new aligned continuity. I think it was in regards to the Dinobots. Hasbro didn't have them in the aligned continuity then HMS came up with the back story, and now they're there.

High Moon never said it connected to the G1 cartoon, but said that it was essentially their G1, since most of WFC could never connect to the G1 cartoon. High Moon can hopefully just continue on their own path, but I hope that they don't land on Earth yet, hopefully they'll discover some Junkions, or Gigantion or other lost Cybertronian colonies.

They've pretty much screwed themselves over but leaving cybertron. Part 3 is probably going to end up with Earth-like visuals such as that of the DOTM tie in game. And they had so much more they could use cybertron for, like those weird temple-like ruins in chapter 4.

At SDCC Tiege said that they don't necessarily go right to Earth. Given the power surge the bridge had, it's unlikely that it was still going to Earth. In Exiles they visited other planets, the games make money, they'll get to Earth eventually, but it won't be for a while.

We'll get more games with other planets. The planets from Galaxy Force/Cybertron, Junk, Quintessa, plenty of worlds to explore yet before they get to Earth.

This isn't the G4 video, can't find it, but here's something. Note, depending on which interview you read or watched, Matt either got closer to saying it syncs up with the beginning of G1 to is based on G1--I think he was playing it safe to see how fans went.

Seeing how Earth was shown on the other side of the portal, I don't see how the Arc or Nemesis end up anywhere but Earth.

Did you even read other people's posts? haha

ps. @ Jakest123, the entire visual style of the games will not shift to movie style. They've established they're own style already.

It is heavily influenced by G1, but it is not directly tied to G1. Optimus and Megatron's origins are vastly different. Stunticons and Aerialbots are present. Starscream wasn't present on the Nemesis. Dinobots have a different origin, as do Insecticons.

    IT ISN'T G1
