I am looking in Yahoo auction japan aka Japan ebay and I'm finding lots of Medabot Models. I want to purchase an Arcdash model, but I can't understand what they are saying. Does anyone know, ordered from or in Japan ebay?

You can't without an intermediary. There are a number of business who have set themselves up to offer this service that you can select from, such as Rinkya, Celga, and Yokatta.

Be aware that they all charge varying service fees.

    Ebay:
It actually depends on the seller and if either of you can overcome the language barrier. Your best bet is a proxy service from one of the link above. As it was mentioned , there is a service fee and it can get pricey depending on the items.

Yeah...pricey like you might end up spending as much, if not more on getting the item to you, as it cost to win the auction!

sometimes, depending on the item, you may end up paying double of the ended price to get it to the States.

Also depends on the middleman too and how much of a fee they'll charge ontop of the ending auction price.

How much you pay depends on how much you won the auction for. Add in bank transfer within Japan and shipping within Japan (from the seller to the Warehouse of the proxy service).

Except there are a lot of cases where certain items simply don't appear for sale regularly outside Yahoo Japan, and sometimes even with fees you can get items for VASTLY cheaper than you can on Ebay. Unless something is rare or super expensive normally, though, you're quite right that it's not necessarily worth it.

Haven't done it myself, but it seems that unless it is something that just never appears outside of Japan and that is the only way you can get it, it just ain't worth it.

Doesn't seem to be there anymore, but last year they did have an English version of YJA going with listings from sellers who were willing to ship overseas, which isn't that many of them. So yeah, proxy services. Be sure to comparison shop on the fees and features, i.e. how long they'll hold multiple orders so you can combine the final shipping to you, whether they take credit cards or paypal only, etc.

The couple times I needed a service, I used shopping mall japan. Their fees were comparatively reasonable. At least they were a few years ago.
