Yay! I completely forgot about Rayman. If Mario slips back for a bit, Rayman it is. Although, me thinks a new Zelda and Metroid will keep me more than a little occupied for the months following the release of the Wii. And, if the Wii was $150, that's awesome, but I was willing plop down up to $300 for it anyway, so even at $250/$200 I'm more than satisfied.
Launch titles run-down: http://revolution.ign.com/articles/709/709258p1.html As for $150? I doubt it, that's awfully far below their ceiling... probably 199.99, but hey I'd certainly take it *L*
I'm buying regardless...the cheaper it is the more other stuff I can get with it. Oct 2nd for a release date? So right when I get home from Botcon I can try to snag a Wii? If that date is correct that will be hectic few days.
A point someone raised somewhere (ain't I full of details?) was that Nintendo will make a crapload of money off the virtual console for relatively little cost. If you download Mario 64 for $5, that's almost all profit. Thus it would benefit Nintendo to get as many Wii's out there as possible, as the money lost from the real console will likely be made up by the virtual one.
if it is $150, i'd pick me up two Wiis...one for the living room, and one for the bedroom If the VC does good, hopefully they'll add more systems (Sega Master System, Sega CD, Sega 32X, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, etc)
SEGA has already announced their full support of the Virtual Console, and will have a crapload of their games available on it in addition to Nintendo's.
If it's $150, I'll do my best to get one... but you might see shortages as everyone else gets the same idea. The pessimist in me says it will never happen, but the loony optimist is hoping for Rondo Of Blood on the VC. And if they ever had the Saturn on there as well, I'd have a nerdgasm and my head would explode. Heck, just having Panzer Dragoon Saga would do it, but you'd need a lot more room than this HD allows for it. FMV hogs space. But if they ever can get Saturn games on there--PDS and all 3 scenarios of Shining Force III (in English) FTW! (And NiGHTS. I'd love me some NiGHTS on Wii.)
Looks like the big N is really gonna throw down this time. Glad I haven't bought a next-gen console yet.
I'm betting that there are a lot of people sitting on the fence right now. $150 would pretty much demolish that fence, and almost certainly make the Wii THE hot item this XMas. Hell, at that price the Wii is practically an impulse buy next to the 360 and PS3.
You mean all one that are out? Anyways, if it was only 150, i'd definately buy one on launch day. I don't think there's a way in hell though.
when they first showed it last fall, they showed it in a lot of colors: white, black, silver, red, green, and blue...
yeah i seen all the colors but they didnt make a final say, just started only showing the white one. i'd get either a white or silver...cause black getting old....my 2x GC (wanted a silver but didnt get one), xb, and the 2x PS2 are black...along with the 3x DVD players, the VCR player, and the 2x TVs. yeah it'll match anything, but...
Hehe, I didn't even buy a last generation system. I have been waiting for the Next generation to start for a few years. My most recent system is a GBA from a month before the GBA SP came out, d'oh! I held off the PSP to see what the PS3 would be like and how they would interact. Apparently that interaction would be to bend me over, screw me, and steal my wallet. Never was interested in an X-box of the 360. I'll pick up a DS Lite, a Wii, and maybe a PS2 to catch up on what I missed from the previous generation. The fact all the systems are big on backwards compatability (except the DS lite, but I have a GBA anyways). Normally I am very reluctant to be on the cutting edge of anything, but I hope getting in on the Wii at launch will prove a good investment. I am still a little bitter about the Virtual Boy....
