Sorry dude. He's gone for good. His upper torso literally fell apart. So even if the Matrix could revive him, some how I doubt it will now.

If the wisdom of the all-spark has been passed to it then no. Sam being a "messenger" or a "vehicle" may have passed it on. If they really want to they can bring him back, but I think he's as good as gone.

Nope. If TPTB want to come up with some bullshit reason to bring him back, or anyone for that matter they'll find something. It's why they left the door open with no one saying he is dead throughout the movie, and we didn't actually see the head or spark dissolve. It's fiction dealing with characters that continually die and keep coming back.

I'll go ahead an say Ironhide is dead for now, but I won't be surprised by the slightest to see him, Starscream, Megatron or even Jazz and Shockwave somehow become resurrected by the forth or fifth movie.

Yes, we finally have a speech for Ironhide. All is taken care of, so now he can truly be one with matrix, along with Jazz, Jetfire, etc.

    R.I.P Ironhide. _____ - 2011.

But we saw the rust had spread to it. The same rust that was eating away at his body and destroying it. Its not unreasonable to assume his head also rusted away into nothingness as well.

And his spark? How do we know it wasnt destroyed from one of the blasts Sentinel shot into Ironhide's chest? The last one's explosion was pretty big, could have been because it was combined with the energy from his spark.

I can't remember if he was still moving around slightly after that, but if we assume they are like humans, he could still ahve been moving around a bit. I remember reading our brain continues functioning for three or so minutes after our hearts have stopped beating, perhaps it works the same for sparks and processors in Cybertronians. It works enough to explain away any movements Ironhide continued to have after his spark was blown away by Sentinel.

    Can he? yes.

    Why?

    the Allspark.

It is destroyed, but if there is a second trilogy they will hopefully address its origins and power more

Look, you make your assumptions, I'll make mine. When Prime drives up, they should have shown us a clear shot of Ironhide completely rusted away, but they didn't, and because of that, I'm using it as the writers leaving a backdoor open.

Ironhide got the shit shot out of him by Starscream in the first movie, you see his chest all ablaze, but that didn't destroy his spark either. For all we know, perhaps he had the initiative to protect his spark chamber and his brain by an application of Corrostop. It's fiction, anything is possible!

I would like to point out that there's a absurdly large difference between "random damage in the chest area that only wounded the individual" [TF1] and "being shot THROUGH YOUR CHEST at point blank range [said shot EXPLODED your chest] and then falling in the ground dead, turning into dust slowly" [DOTM].

It's like comparing being punched in the chest real hard with receiving a shot from a shotgun at-point-blank range on your back and then melting.

I didn't see the rust hit his head. You show me a clip that has the rust actually on his face! Go ahead and show me a picture from the movie with the rust on his actual face, and I'll shut up!
