Just to add...the chain is real metal and heavy and strong, the main part of the body is die cast metal and the legs are hinged with hidden feet, really well made..;O

Yeah, this forum is awesome like that. You can pretty much post a picture of anything, and eventually (if not within like an hour) somebody will know what it is, or at least have enough of a recollection to know what to google.

I had the padlock in silver...it was solid die cast like a real lock. You could read knock a lump in someones head with it.

I just flashed back to 4th grade, trying to lock my desk with this guy and getting him taken away by the teacher. Cool to see one again.

Hi, you know its funny I was actually thinking this thing is strong enough to actually use as a real lock, i have tried the combination of 5 8 left to right but I can not get the key part out ;( maybe there was more than one combination.

On another note I am not sure if i want to part with him just yet, our rule of thumb from auctions we win is we get to keep one piece and we sell the rest, I may just be keeping him i think he is awesome. I have a few other weird little ones I found I have only just identified, I will list some more pics of them cause its always fun hearing stories that flashback people to their past.

Since this community is so amazing with identification I might throw one more at you.
I recently purchased a junk auction of sorts with a random few parts, really only grabbed it for the thundercracker parts and for soundwave and that is where I found Mr padlock robot. However there was also a sideswipe but i put him aside quickly as I have about 5 and i was like blah..after 15 minutes of looking through the items and I noticed a lot of the toys I had not seen before. So i started checking dates and stamps on the toys and found some interesting pieces. There was a zybots firetruck, from 1984. also this really cool converter called Fast track, not sure if this is the USA or the Japanese Version since the markings are in Japanese...I cant read japanese ;( and finaly back to sideswipe.
Every fibre in my body would love it to be true but i doubt it is..sideswipe has zero markings under his hood...its totally free of all stamping, and he has TAKARA JAPAN on the back of his waist...Diaclone maybe ??? I doubt it but I would love it to be something like that maybe someone in this community can answer what version of sideswipe this is.
Here are some of the links to the photos

The train is from Galactic Gale Sasuraiger AKA Battrain, make by Takatoku. There were several different versions (I'm partial to the 2 full transforming ones) this one looks to be the cheaper version and is missing some of the wheels and the cab/shield :)
