okay long story short, i was in the process of recycling all my inserts from beast wars - animated. to my dismay i discovered that i had forgotten to remove this missle from the packaging. now im stumped to which transformer this belongs to. here is a pic of the insert and missle. based on the insert my guess is that it is from the armada - movie line? wow it is a NIGHTWATCH PRIME MISSLE! THANKS FOR THE HELP GUYS. it was in my movie box inserts but i just for the life of me couldnt remember who it belongs to!
I have a feeling I know whos missile that is but I cant place it looks like a scout class bubble for sure
the insert looks like it has been cut off from a cardboard insert, if that helps. this isnt from a normal issue. i think it may be a japanese issue. this is why i am having a major problem identifying it dammit. after further review, i think this is just the bottom portion of an insert for a bigger transformer. it looks like the insert would just hold the legs, which may explain the odd shape of the insert and moldings.
Could we get a closer look at that projectile? i feel like i know it but can not be sure if i can't get a better look.
So looks like this figure was packed in robot mode? In that case you can eliminate most of the recent Japanese lines, because as far as I know of, they were all packed in their alt mode except for leaders+ sizes in Micron Legend ~ Galaxy Force. Robot Masters are packaged in their robot mode, but the blister isn't taped onto the cardboard insert. It does look like in robot mode with car parts hanging off the back or something, though. Henkei voyagers are packed in their robot mode, but that's not one of them, right? (I don't think their blister is taped either, anyway.) If this is in robot mode package, that fact alone should narrow down the possibility a lot. aaargh I don't know, hope someone comes up with the answer!
The missile itself looks a lot like the one that Nightwatch Optimus Prime has, but the packaging doesn't reflect that unfortunately. :/
That would help. So would another shot of the tray from a lower angle, so we can better see what the figures indentation looks like.
That sure does look like NW OP's missle. I can almost see Prime in the plastic bubble. Looking at www.tfu.info for pics I'm 99% sure that is where it is from. Good eye CrypticIllusionist!!!

How the heck did a NW Optimus Prime missile get into that packaging? This thread has my brain hurting...
As usual I'm late to the party, but I thought I'd show you this--I did a search on the shmax database for "translucent purple missile", and got these results: =128&date_after_m=1&date_after_d=1&date_after_y=1984&date_before_m=7&date_before_d=23&date_before_y=2009&Submit=Search&r=1] Note your pal "Nightwatch Optimus Prime" at the top of the list. Unfortunately we only have accessory photos for about 10 percent of the parts in the database so this probably would only have been of limited help, but then again it may have helped ring a bell even without the photo. Maybe it'll be of help for next time. shmax
yeah i had a feeling it was a leader class figure since it looked like 1/2 an insert for a large figure.
Well I think we can narrow down what its not. Its not cybertron other wise we would see a gap for the cyber planet key if it were a movie toy we would see a rounded edge to the packing it cant be an armada Deluxe since their no gap the right size for the minicon or booklets. I don't think its Energon since Energon stuff all had jagged edges. I'd say its pre Armada unless its japanese then it could be a few different lines
