There was a poll earlier and many members seemed to have a harder time finding Camshaft than Swerve. I myself found 2 Swerves and no Camshafts. I think the main reason Swerve asks for a higher price than Camshaft on ebay is cos Swerve is older so there's less chance of finding one at retail at this point in time.
That was so crazy - it literally took just 50 minutes for Camshaft to go out of stock. Online stores buy by the case, just like any brick-and-mortar store. I'll definitely have one of my Camshafts up for sale once it arrives (got quoted an arrival date of the 10th to the 20th, heh), maybe the second if I don't like it. I'm not sure if I'll go with the "auction" method, just ask for a decent price and go down from there if necessary, or just be really, really nice and sell it at cost. In these cases, it can almost be like playing God. Mwahahahahaha...
we had an unscientific poll in the WA state thread and NO ONE had ever seen Camshaft @ retail. Swerve was literally a shelfwarmer around here last winter, i picked mine up on a whim in January or February...
Oh, no contest the alts are better then the roadboats...they are more like giant go bots....not that I have any yet...but just from the pictures that is my impression.
Umm, just my stupid rambling thought process in action here, but... wouldn't it have helped your fellow posters out a little more if you had just let them buy them directly? Instead of now having to buy from you, probably for a higher price? Not that there's anything wrong with making a profit. Lord knows i would have done the same exact thing... and jacked the price on those mofos up as high as humanly possible. Hehe. Just saying is all...
Now, now, he never said a thing about selling them for profit. From what I have seen, onesock is a good guy. And, while I was initally annoyed too, think of it this way: he now has 5 more (I guess) to sell to fellow board members. See, others from other boards and not part of boards (read: scalpers) may have gotten to them first had he not bought 6 at once, which would have thereby have reduced even further the chances people here had of getting one at all.
Not really accusing him of anything. I don't know much about him, but he does seem like a nice guy. I really wouldn't have a problem if he did scalp them, to be honest. Just saying... why the hell didn't i think of that?
I saw one Camshaft in retail at the Poulsbo, WA Walmart, but didn't have the money to pick it up 'till the next day, and he was gone by then. Dude, not cool...
Well, the way I look at it, I didnt get to this thread until long after kb sold out. So if I had tried to go through them, I would've been out of luck. But, when I saw onesock bought six, I quickly PMed him to reserve one, and now I'm happy
