Was wondering how many people here play an instrument? I play the bassoon.
I've been pretty musically involved my whole life...my mom teaches piano so picked up on that at a young age, then I played Vioin and Clarinet in grade and middle school, bass clarinet my freshman year of high school. I started playing drums and percussion be summer before my freshman year but the band director wouldn't let me switch. Since then I've had some great successes and opportunities come fom playing drums I also have a guitar but I'm not good at all with it
I just came home from rehearsing with a Community Band. I am a percussionist and have been in the Community Band since 2003. We play 3 concerts during each school year. We also play at outdoor venues during the summer. I have also played in 3 different church bands and orchestras. Music, Architecture and Transformers are my passions.
I have a keyboard, a concertina, and a jew's harp.
I am actually currently trying to find other TF fans who are interested in doing a Transformers-concept Heavy Metal band/project. Not songs like "Megatron" or "Ratchet" but stuff like "Shattering the Void" or "Arise, Guardian of Time", stuff that delves into the mythology of TF.
Piano and keyboards (eighth-grade diploma holder from the ABRSM), electric bass (self-taught amateur).
i play drums, piano, guitar, bass guitar
i'd LOVE to learn like the upright bass/violin/cello, xylophone?
thatd be awesome
I saw that idea on the California Sightings thread! Sounds cool!
I can rock the Banjo,Sax and some Cello.
drummer here of 22yrs
Proper instruments: guitar, bass, percussion, ukulele, keyboards (poorly)
Sort-of instruments: Drum machines, samplers, synths, analogue sequencers
I primarily do electronic music, but I'm not much of a keyboard player and tend to think of it more like composing than playing an actual instrument. There's technical skill and musicality involved, but most people probably wouldn't consider punching in a drum sequence or playing a melody using a row of voltage knobs to be 'playing an instrument' in the traditional sense.
Keyboards, guitar, bass, brass horns like trumpets and trombones...I'm basically a pick it up give me 5 minutes and figured it out musician. Rusty right now since I've been too busy to play but I did order a jaw harp.
played trumpet in high school.
Trumpet, trombone, with a bit of ability on guitar and piano.
Guitar, Bass, and Saxophone
I have a masters degree in music and am a high school music teacher. While I play flute my specialty is voice and piano
I play guitar, bass, clarinet, piano, and radio.
I mainly play baritone sax, and, to an extent, play an alto or tenor sax as well. I recently started playing electric bass guitar; I'm thinking about moving up to a five-string if I get the cash for it.
Drummer here! I studied Percussion and graduated from Music Tech in Minneapolis in 1997.
I played trumpet from 5th grade to 9th grade. I loved the instrument, but my school was really small and that meant a very small band program. I lost interest because the numbers kept getting smaller (about 25 total when I stopped). I probably would have stayed with it if it was bigger a bigger band and I didn't have to take other classes.
I just graduated, so it wasn't too long ago that I quit. I could probably go get it out of storage and play something.
I play trumpet I started playing in middle school but kinda lost interest I got 12 chair in all region which I think it's pretty good because I rarely pratice
I also like the keyboard and guitar but I ain't that good
