Hasbro claims that they never intended for the line to be released in the US. Yet, they were advertised in the club mag. I dont remember if the Voyagers were but I know the two pack was. I am curious if this means that they were made and not ordered thus later showing up at Ross or if they sent them to other countries.

    Very curious.
    Your thoughts,

Chalk it up as a left hand not knowing what the riht hand was doing kind of thing.

It's the easiest thing to do.... and its plausible.

    Read their recent statement again.

It doesn't say that the product was never intended to be released in the US.

It says that the product was not produced, which is entirely different.

I am not trying to start controversy I am just following Hasbro's line of thought. They said they never meant for those FE to be released here yet they were advertised in the club mag. .....very interesting

They were intended for release (why the hell would Hasbro bother developing something they had no intention of releasing?). But the retailers apparently changed their minds (probably as a result of the impending RiD mainline, because they dragged their asses getting FE on the shelves in the first place, because they were in bed with DotM), causing Hasbro to cancel production of the later waves.

    End of story.

BBTS got their product cancelled because they're not a big enough outfit to support an entire production run, as their stagnating Seacon supply shows (despite that being a more limited run in the first place).

Meanwhile, international retailers were more accepting of the stock, so their alotted production runs didn't get cancelled.

That's the way these things work.

Waiting for them to hit Ross :)

Where all 'cancelled' things go. At least in regards to GI Joe.

Only the first three FE toys (Arcee, Bumblebee, & Starscream) were released in the U.S. in limited quantities at TRU. Though due to various issues, the remaining FE deluxes (Cliffjumper, Zombie Cliffjumper, & Vehicon), Voyagers (Prime & Bulkhead), and the Entertainment Pack were cancelled, thus remaining unreleased in the U.S.

    1. Fun Publications runs the Club magazine, not Hasbro directly. There could always be the chance for mishaps and oversights. But that's not the case here.

    2. You have things backwards. Hasbro does not just make toys and hopes stores buy stock. That's stupid business. They take orders and base the initial production run on those orders.

Stores in the US didn't order FE cases, so Hasbro doesn't make as many. Orders were so low that Hasbro cut their losses and cancelled the line.

Sell what? There's nothing to sell. Read above. Do you think Hasbro just has a warehouse filled with FE cases? That's not how it works.

    Thoughts:
-USA first editions never made it to packageing phase. (canadian release was from multilingual packageing. So those were intended for international markets)
-USA Toys R Us only received cases from the first wave because that's all they needed to commit to for Christmas

    - Limited retailer involvement do to the over saturation of Dark of the Moon toys impacted the market for Prime first editions.

If Hasbro does find a new way to distribute these, its probably going to be next year. Since their all prepped for the 2012 lineup.
Even the store exclusives have been accepted months ago.

If these do come to retail. I could use the spares. No one should regret importing these figures with the release so up in the air.

Foreign collectors consider this debate to be just whining about missing a few toys that won't see release here. But its a two pronged attack. PRID's designs, while not bad toys they seem like a step back do to their prioritys. It caught us completely off guard, and its approaching quickly to supplant the "demand" for prime figures.

Their going to put those Prime first edition molds in new packageing with their brand manager solicitations for exclusives.
If Prime does'nt get wiped out when the new movie comes to town. We have a chance of a retailer exclusive pickup.

Finally for those that want it here is a list of all the PRID toys I've gathered information on, and I'm actually excited for a lot of it:
